NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles®) – Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton just released her first official political  ad and already, pundits are praising it as one of the most brilliant campaign ads America has ever seen.

In the ad, Clinton talks about her late mother Dorothy  who brought her up in a loving family.

Dorothy was abandoned by her parents at age 8 and began to work for a family at age 14.  It was then that she saw what it is like when parents love and provide for their children and families.

Clinton then looks straight into the camera, saying that it is because of her mom and all the other Dorothy’s in America, that she is running for president.

With this ad, she won the hearts and minds (and most likely the votes) of the 1, 166,352 Americans with the first name Dorothy.

Dorothy is the 30th most popular name in the U.S., according to the  website howmanyofme.com

Maybe, Clinton’s next ad will talk about her husband Bill, and address all the William’s in America of which there are 3,943,457 (the 6th most popular first name in the U.S.

POPE FRANCIS TO MEET WITH MILEY CYRUS IN SEPTEMBER OVER HER COMMENTS ON NOAH’S ARK

imageNEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – Pope Francis will meet with American pop singer Miley Cyrus when he visits the United States September 22-27, 2015.

During his papal visit, Francis will meet with President and Mrs. Barack Obama, address a joint session of the U.S. Congress and speak before the United Nations  General Assembly.

The U.S. Conference of Bishops confirmed Francis’ private meeting with Cyrus who recently said that the biblical account of Noah’s Ark is nothing but a fairy tale. Cyrus was quoted saying, “That’s f*cking insane.  We’ve outgrown that fairy tale, like we’ve outgrown f*cking Santa and the tooth fairy, and all Disney characters.”

The pope was concerned that because many young Catholics look up to Cyrus, they might be led to believe that Noah’s Ark is indeed a fairy tale.

The meeting will happen on September 24 in an undisclosed location where the Pope is expected to conduct a one-on-one catechism session with Cyrus.  He hopes the meeting will convince the popular singer about factual accounts in the bible, including the story of Noah’s Ark.

Cyrus, speaking through her publicist, said she welcomes the meeting and is open to hearing what Pope Francis has say about the issue.

The singer started her career as the Disney character Hanna Montana. She has outgrown that character and has since appeared nude in photographs and revealed she was gender neutral.

Cyrus regularly attended church as a youngster and even took to wearing a purity ring as a sign of her Christian faith.

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – From New York City to St Louis, Missouri; from China to the Philippines, people are paying tribute to Cecil, the Zimbabwean lion killed by an American dentist last week.

The killing has elicited an international outrage and many have called for the banning of hunting as a sport. Others are drawing attention to the issue by putting up amzing tributes to Cecil.

In New York City, the Empire State Building lit up the night sky with a giant image of Cecil projected onto the facade of the landmark building.

In China, a giant billboard with Cecil’s photograph was set up on a hill along the Great Wall.

In Baguio City, Philippines, volunteers carved Cecil’s image from a huge rock located along the winding road leading up to the country’s summer capital.

But in St Louis, Missouri,  city officials were not content with just hanging a banner bearing a photo of Cecil on the Arch. They included the photo of the killer dentist, Dr. Walter Palmer alongside Cecil’s.

Other world sites in Paris, Egypt, Germany, London and Australia are also contemplating putting up their own tributes to Cecil.
