GAY COMEDIAN VICE GANDA SCORES RARE INTERVIEW WITH PHILIPPINE PRESIDENT AQUINO

imageManila, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – Forget Sony Pictures’ The Interview. There is a more talked-about interview in all of Asia, and the world.

Everybody knows that it takes more than an arm and a leg to score an exclusive, sit-down interview with Philippine President NoyNoy Aquino. But somebody did just that: Vice Ganda (Jose Marie Borja Viceral in real life).

Vice Ganda is a Filipino television host and actor best known for his stand-up routines, in which he uses observational comedy, situational irony and sarcasm in pertaining to Filipino culture and human sexuality. Many are wondering why Aquino agreed to be interviewed by a showbiz personality instead of any of the respected journalists and television anchors who have been trying so hard to interview the president.

The openly-gay Vice Ganda, who is a friend of the president’s sister Kris Aquino, sat down with the older Aquino in Malacanang Palace, the Philippine equivalent of the White House.

The Adobo Chronicles learned from very reliable sources that Vice Ganda scored the interview by agreeing to certain rules dictated by the president and Kris Aquino:

  • The interview will be conducted only in Tagalog, which is the President’s language choice when making speeches
  • There will be no questions about the pork barrel scam
  • There will be no questions about Aquino’s snub of actress Nora Aunor for National Artist
  • There will be no questions about the president’s political nemesis, former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who remains in hospital arrest
  • There will be no questions about Manila’s MRT (light railway) or traffic problems
  • There will be no questions about the recently-discovered luxury jail cells of drug lords at the New Bilibid Prison (National Penitentiary)
  • There will be no questions about where all the donated money for last year’s typhoon Yolanda relief went
  • Aquino will not be asked who he will be endorsing in the 2016 Philippine presidential elections
  • The president will not be asked about his love life (Aquino is a bachelor)
  • The president will need to take a break from the interview every 10 minutes so he can light up a cigarette.

All other questions are okay, but a list must be provided to the president 48 hours in advance. The taped interview will air on Vice Ganda’s regular TV show, with schedule to be announced.

SONY PICTURES NOW FILMING “THE INTERVIEW PART 2”

Hollywood, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Literally just hours after it released  ‘The Interview’ on Google Play, YouTube Movies and Xbox Video, Sony Pictures announced that it has started filming the sequel to the controversial movie about the assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

It is believed that the movie which stars Seth Rogen and James Franco was the reason that lead to the hacking of Sony Pictures.  North Korea is suspected of being responsible for the cyber attack.

Sony Pictures had earlier cancelled the Christmas Day release of the film, a move that was criticized by many in Hollywood, as well as President Barack Obama.

The video release of the film is expected to generate hundreds of millions of dollars for Sony Pictures, given the worldwide publicity it has generated because of the cyber attack.

Riding on what it expects to be a huge financial success, Sony has signed up Rogen and Franco to do ‘The Interview Part 2.’  The new plot revolves around the assassination of Kim Jong-chul who is Kim Jong-un’s reel and real-life older brother.  The film sequel begins with the Jong-chul succeeding his assassinated brother and becoming the new North Korean supreme leader.

Sony Pictures refused to answer reporters’ questions on whether Kim Jong-chul ends up being assassinated in the film sequel.

Asked whether the sequel will be released in theaters or on DVD, a spokesperson for Sony said that the decision will come after it has tallied its profits from the DVD release of ‘The Interview’ (Part 1).

HETEROSEXUAL MEN MUST BE CELIBATE FOR A YEAR BEFORE DONATING BLOOD, FDA RULES

imageWashington, D.C.  (The Adobo Chronicles) – Federal health officials today issued two new rulings that would eventually lift the 31-year-old ban on gay and bisexual men donating blood while eliminating what many believe has been a discriminatory policy.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) implemented the lifetime ban on donations from men who have sex with men in 1983, when health officials were first recognizing the risk of contracting AIDS via blood transfusions. Under the policy, blood donations are barred from any man who has had sex with another man at any time since 1977 — the start of the AIDS epidemic in the U.S.

Now, the FDA said it favors replacing the blanket ban with a new policy barring donations from men who have had man-on-man sex in the previous 12 months.

The second ruling now requires heterosexual men who wish to donate blood to be celibate for 12 months.  The FDA said this new policy would, in effect, make the playing field equal between gay/bisexual men and heterosexual men.

Both lgbt activists and the medical community immediately praised the new FDA rulings.
