Miss Universe title holder Olivia Culpo of the United States
NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles) – Donald Trump, who has just announced that he was running for president of the United States, has been accused of paying actors to attend his presidential bid announcement in New York this week. But there’s more.
The business mogul, who admitted he was filthy rich during his announcement, has reportedly ennlisted all Miss Universe title holders for the last ten years to be his campaign managers. (Trump is the owner of the Miss Universe Pageant).
The Donald told reporters that engaging the beauty queens in his campaign would be the best strategy to beat his potential woman opponent in the 2016 elections, Hillary Clinton.
Sounds like a case of ‘Beauty and the Beast,” doesn’t it?
Trump with 2012 Miss Universe Olivia Culpo of the U.S.A
NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles) – It’s official. Donald Trump is running for president of the United States.
The real estate mogul made the announcement today at the Trump Building in New York City, vowing to make “this country great again.”
The announcement all but ends all speculation about what happens with Trump’s reality TV show, “Celebrity Apprentice” and the 2016 Miss Universe Pageant (which Trump owns).
Speaking to journalists after his candidacy announcement, Trump confirmed that will not sign a new contract for what would have been another season of “Celebrity Apprentice.” He also said that he is suspending the Miss Universe Pageant in 2016 in order to focus on his presidential campaign.
The news devastated many Miss Universe hopefuls, including Miss Japan Ariana Miyamoto and Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach.
Perhaps if Trump loses the nomination or election (which he will), the 2016 Miss Universe candidates can represent their countries in the 2017 pageant.
Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada, center, presents the candidates of Miss Gay Manila 2015
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – The Philippines is making history with the launch of the first Miss Gay Manila in the nation’s capital.
Having a gay beauty pageant is far from being a first. What makes Miss Gay Manila 2015 one for the record is that the pageant is sponsored by no less than the government. Now that would make Miss Universe Pageant owner Donald Trump nervous and threatened.
At today’s press presentation of the candidates, Manila Mayor (and former Philippines president) Joseph Estrada was on hand to give a kiss to each aspiring beauty queen.
The grand coronation will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on May 20, 2015.
“The most energetic, witty, optimistic and confident candidate can get a chance to be crowned as the first ever winner of this prestigious pageant that promotes equality among all genders,” Estrada told reporters.
Estrada received a thunderous applause when he announced that the winner of this pageant will represent the City of Manila in the next Miss Philippines contest to choose the country’s representative to the 2016 Miss Universe Pageant.
Prizes at stake are P500,000 cash for the Grand Winner of Miss Gay Manila 2015, P200,000 for the First Runner-up and P100,000 for the Second Runner-up. The prize winnings will be exempted from local government taxes. However, they will be subject to national government tax by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), according to BIR Commissioner Kim Henares.
