Netizens: Bring Back The Chow In ChowKing!

In a backfiring case of corporate crisis (mis)management, ChowKing recently issued a public statement addressing an out-of-store order-taking practice at one of its branches.

However, what was meant to be a damage control masterpiece ended up resembling a fast-food Shakespearean tragedy.

The statement inadvertently shifted the public’s focus from the location blunder to the real heart of the matter: ChowKing’s questionable culinary offerings. Netizens, armed with keyboards and a hunger for justice, took the opportunity to dissect the fast-food giant’s menu with surgical precision.

Unreasonable prices? Check. Portions that make a thumb-sized appetizer seem like a feast? Double check. Rancid chicken? A triple check. And let’s not forget the oily pancit canton, which could rival an oil spill in its environmental impact.

It appears that ChowKing underestimated the power of the internet’s food critics, who care more about what they’re served than where they order it.

Perhaps next time, the company should focus on enhancing its recipes rather than crafting statements that unintentionally turn them into the laughing stock of the online foodie community.

ICC: Reading Between The Lines Of President Bongbong Marcos’ Seemingly Conflicting Statements

If news media reports were to be believed and that they are correctly reading between the lines, President Bongbong Marcos is contemplating the Philippines’ return to the International Criminal Court (ICC), leaving the nation in a state of bewilderment reminiscent of a telenovela plot twist.

This, of course, follows his earlier passionate stance that the ICC’s investigation into the country’s war on drugs was nothing short of an interference in the Philippines’ internal affairs and an affront to its sovereignty.

Critics and media outlets are now feverishly deciphering the cryptic nuances of this apparent about-face, suggesting that Marcos might be conceding that the Philippine judicial system and democratic processes are not functional, something that no Philippine president — and certainly not Marcos — will ever admit to the world.

But let’s not jump to conclusions; perhaps Marcos is simply engaging in an avant-garde performance art piece titled “Flip-Flopping for Sovereignty.”

Clearly, the President is a strategic mastermind, skillfully keeping the public on its toes while simultaneously showcasing the dexterity of a contortionist in navigating political narratives.

In the meantime, let’s give critics and the news media the benefit of click-baits which they definitely need in their quest for relevance and engagement.

Harry Roque Inadvertently Justifies ICC Investigation Of Duterte’s War On Drugs.

Former Duterte spokesperson Harry Roque recently contorted reality by proclaiming that there is no Democracy within the hallowed halls of the House of Representatives.

Irony, it seems, has taken early retirement in the Philippines. Roque’s revelation comes as the House contemplates resolutions urging the government to graciously allow the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate Duterte’s infamous war on drugs. It’s a bit like a magician complaining that his own disappearing act lacks transparency.

Roque, with a straight face and a wink to absurdity, inadvertently justifies the ICC’s intervention (which he opposes) by highlighting the lack of Democratic charm in the very institution he once was part of. He fell just short of proclaiming the justice system, and by extension, Democracy do not work in the Philippines.

Welcome to the paradoxical circus of Philippine politics, where self-awareness is in short supply, but irony is served in abundance.
