Sara Duterte ‘Slams’ Use Of Song ‘Manila’ At Sea Games Opening

DAVAO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Davao Bureau) – The online blog site Rappler is reporting that Davao City Sara Duterte has slammed the use of the song ‘Manila’ as background music for the entrance of Filipino athletes during the SEA Games Opening Ceremonies Friday night.

The Presidential daughter said the song does not represent the entire country. Nevermind that his dad swayed to the music as he waived his hand — a la Miss Universe — to greet the Filipino athletes.

We spoke via Skype to Sara and we asked her what song she thought would have been more appropriate.

She sent us this link for her song choice:

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – She’s been moved a couple of times in the last several years — from Assistant Secretary at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to Undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).  She’s a certified supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte and is credited for the meme, “Digong My Labs”

Now Lorraine Marie T. Badoy is ready to move to the private sector, joining the staff of The Adobo Chronicles (AC) as a senior satire writer.

For many months now, AC has struggled to fill the senior satire writer position.  Many have been called, but none was chosen.

Badoy didn’t even have to submit a formal application.  All she needed was to post a glowing example of her satire skills on her social media account.

When AC saw the post, it knew right away that it has found the perfect person for the position.

Congratulations, Ms. Badoy.  Welcome to AC!
