AMAZON, LAZADA OVERWHELMED BY PANTSUIT ONLINE ORDERS

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – U.S.-based Amazon and Philippine-based Lazada are both reporting a sharp increase in their online sales of women’s pantsuit just hours after Vice President-elect Kamala Harris appeared at a Democratic victory event in Delaware today. Harris donned a white pantsuit.

Many will recall that former First Lady and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was also known for the pantsuits she wore at public events.

Both Amazon and Lazada told The Adobo Chronicles that their pantsuits, especially the white colored ones, are currently on back order. Neither could confirm when the pantsuit stocks will be back to normal.

Win or lose, donald trump will authorize a second stimulus check for americans

WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Even if he loses the election, Donald Trump will remain as President until the inauguration of Joe Biden in January.

Sources close to The White House told The Adobo Chronicles that Trump plans to issue an Executive Order authorizing the granting of a second round of the Covid-19 stimulus checks to Americans, but only those who voted for him. That would exclude the 75 Million (and counting) of voters who chose Joe Biden in this November’s elections.

The new round of stimulus checks, according to a White House spokesperson who prefers to remain anonymous, will be double that of the first round ($1,200 for individuals and twice that for couples, plus additional bucks for those with qualified children.) That would be a minimum of $2,400 of Christmas shopping money for singles.

The Executive Order authorizes the Bureau of Internal Revenue to secure copies of ballots cast to determine who is qualified for the second round of stimulus checks.

VP LENI ROBREDO TO SUE RAPPLER FOR CYBER LIBEL!

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Yet another cyber libel case is hanging over the head of Rappler and its CEO, Maria Ressa. This time, the law suit is coming from Vice President Leni Robredo.

The impending law suit stems from a Twitter post by Rappler.com in which Robredo’s daughters compared U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim of poll cheating to the 2016 Vice Presidential elections where their mom narrowly won over opponent Bongbong Marcos. (The electoral protest filed by Marcos against Robredo remains unresolved and is still pending with the Presidential Electoral Tribunal or PET.)

The Vice President is suing Rappler for the caption, “Lugaw, anyone” which accompanied its Twitter post.

“Lugaw” (rice porridge) is considered by the Robredos as derogatory. It is a label used by Duterte Die-hard Supporters (DDS) to ridicule the Vice President. The label stems from statements attributed to her claiming she raised campaign funds by selling lugaw.

“And I thought, Ressa and Rappler were on our side,” the VP said. “I was wrong.

Ressa was earlier convicted of cyber libel in a case filed by a private businessman.
