Robredo, Trillanes Reveal Their Preferred Names On The 2022 Ballot

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Remember the elections of 2016 where both Liberal Party Presidential candidate Mar Roxas and VP candidate Leni Robredo added “Daang Matuwid” to their names on the ballot?

Well, as they say, history repeats itself.

Today, presumptive Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates Robredo and Antonio Trillanes announced their preferred names when it comes to the official 2022 ballot.

Robredo wants her name listed as Leni “Lugaw” Robredo, while Trillanes wants his to be listed as Antonio “Kanin” Trillanes.

The two opposition stalwarts told The Adobo Chronicles that name recall counts a lot in most elections, so they would like to be listed based on the popular memes hurled at them for the last several years.

Makes. Real. Sense.

CONSENSUS: Liberal Party’s Best Presidential Bet In 2022 Is Congressman Edcel Lagman

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – After all, the Liberal Party’s best bet for President in the 2022 elections is not its chairperson Leni Robredo. Rather, it is Congressman Edcel Lagman of the 1st District of Albay, according to a party consensus.

This shocking development within the Opposition party was reported by The Manila Times in a breaking news headline that said:

The Adobo Chronicles tried to reach the Office of the Vice President, but calls have not been returned as of press time.

This is a developing story.

ICC Rejects Petition Of Trillanes, Alejano!

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (The Adobo Chronicles, Paris Bureau) – The International Criminal Court (ICC) today junked the petition filed by Antonio Trillanes and Gary Alejano accusing Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte of crimes against humanity.

ICC issued its decision not based on the merits of the petition but on technicality.

The joint petitioners represented themselves as a Filipino couple, even displaying their marriage certificate in front of the ICC seal in the international body’s headquarters in The Hague.

ICC found the couple’s petition as void since same-sex marriage is not legal in the Philippines.

A spokesperson for ICC told The Adobo Chronicles that the action by Trillanes and Alejano constituted fraud and an unacceptable disrespect for the international body.

This all puts to rest the ICC Prosecutors request to start an investigation into the alleged extra-judicial killings committed by the Duterte government in connection with its war on illegal drugs.
