Departing NAIA Passengers Can Now Upload Yearbook Photos Online!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau)- If you’re a Filipino passenger departing for abroad from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), there is some good news!

Effective May 1, the Bureau of Immigration will do away with the paper-based departure card and will instead institute an online system.

Passengers can now fill out the online departure form and upload photos of required travel documents like passport, visa, affidavit of support, itinerary, return ticket, bank accounts and yes, college yearbook.

The Bureau of Immigration was recently called out when one of its officers required a department passenger to show her yearbook as proof of educational attainment.

“The online process will prevent passengers from being offloaded from their flights for lack of travel documents,” an Immigration spokesperson told The Adobo Chronicles.

Fact Check: PH Senator Bato Dela Rosa Can Travel To 72 Countries Amid Arrest Threat

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Senator Bato dela Rosa said he is refraining from traveling to International Criminal Court (ICC) member-countries in case there is a warrant of arrest that will be issued against him.

Dela Rosa, along with former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is being investigated by ICC prosecutors for alleged crimes against humanity in connection with the previous administration’s war on drugs.

But before you all feel bad for the former police chief, here’s some good news:

Forty one countries have not signed the Rome Statute and are therefore not members of ICC while another 31 countries have signed but not ratified the agreement.

That’s a lot of travel options for dela Rosa. For starters he can travel to China, Ehtiopia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, North Korea, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Plus the United States!

NAIA Immigration: No College Yearbook? Just Wear Your Toga!

MANILA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Pasay City Bureau) – Filipinos leaving for abroad are weary about excessive immigration screening at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after news of an outgoing passenger missing her flight because an officer asked to see her college yearbook.

Can’t find your yearbook? No worries.

NAIA authorities today announced that in lieu of a college yearbook, Filipino passengers can now just wear a graduation toga as proof of a college degree.

That’s exactly what an unnamed passenger did when he flew from NAIA to Tokyo, Japan en route to Los Angeles, California.

The man breezed through immigration and was in his airline’s departure lounge two hours before his scheduled departure.

All’s well that ends well.
