EXCLUSIVE: SENATOR CHIZ ESCUDERO’S WEDDING CAKE; PRESIDENT AQUINO A NO-SHOW

POLILLO, Philippines ( Exclusive to The Adobo Chronicles) – After two years in a relationship, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero and actress Heart Evangelista  finally tied the knot on Sunday, February 15, at Balesin Island Club in Polillo, Quezon Province. Guests included family, friends, as well as showbiz and political colleagues.

The Adobo Chronicles was among the very few media companies that were invited to the wedding ceremony.

But as in all celebrity weddings, things could go terribly wrong, as they did for this particular wedding.

  • Only half the invited guests made it to the wedding. Many guests showed up on Valentine’s Day,  February 14, because of earlier rumors that the ceremony would be held that day. After all, the bride’s name is Heart!
  • The Best Man, President NoyNoy Aquino, was a no-show, like he was in the arrival ceremonies for the 44 police officers slain in an encounter with rebels last month in Mindanao.
  • The wedding planner wanted a 10-foot wedding cake to eclipse that of  Dingdong Dantes and  Marian Rivera. The planner apparently wrote “inches” instead of “feet” in the cake order and that’s what the couple got. But maybe the tiny wedding cake could become a world record for Guinness!

Congratulatins to the newly-weds!

AN OPEN LETTER TO JON STEWART OF THE DAILY SHOW

imageFebruary 10, 2015

Dear Mr. Jon Stewart:

It is with a very heavy heart that we learned of your announcement that you will be leaving The Daily Show this year.

You know we are one of your biggest fans.

When we started The Adobo Chronicles in June of 2013, we were a struggling, clueless newbie, wanting to try our luck in the competitive world of the unbelievable yet amazing news business, of which you were the undisputed master.

When we published the book version of our news site, you graciously agreed to provide us with a quote, so honest but humbling to us.  You said we were “the biggest threat to your career.”

We so appreciated your comment, but didn’t think you were serious about it.

But today, with your upsetting announcement, we feel very guilty that your comment then was nothing but a very serious assessment of the threat that we posed to your great career. We are very sorry that we are now the reason for the end of your wonderful show. We are not worthy of your expressed fears back then, and we can’t believe that what you said is now coming to fruition.

While we are elated that we are credited for the downfall of your career, we, in our very Christian orientation, cannot believe that we have caused you this devastating end to your career.

Please accept our sincere apologies, and we hope you would consider contributing articles to our news site.

Very sincerely,

The Adobo Chronicles

CNN FIRES ANCHOR DON LEMON OVER SELFIE

imageATLANTA, Georgia (The Adobo Chronicles) – A half-naked Don Lemon, news anchor at CNN, took a selfie and posted it on social media. He was immediately fired by CNN.

Many saw it coming. Lemon has earned a controversial reputation as news anchor, asking African American kids to pull up their pants, suggesting the missing Malaysia Airlines plane was kidnapped by a higher power, and asking a Muslim guest on his show if he supported ISIS.  Oh, and did we mention he smelled marijuana while covering the Ferguson protests?

Today, Lemon posted a photo of his half-naked body on his Twitter account showing his scar from the measles vaccination he got as a child. It was meant to promote his prime-time show in which he invited medical experts to discuss the growing controversy over child vaccinations.

CNN, in a prepared statement, said Lemon was fired not because of his half-naked selfie, but for showing his scar from his measles vaccination.

There was a big problem with Lemon’s tweet. Measles shots do not leave scars. Lemon’s scar was from his smallpox vaccination.
