WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – It must be related to his insecurity or attention deficit disorder, but President Donald Trump wants to prove to America that he is more popular than Lady Gaga.
Lady Gaga, as we all know, will perform during Sunday’s Super Bowl LI’s half-time show in what is considered the most-watched television spectacle.
Today, The White House announced that Donald Trump will go on live television to make a very important announcement. The president will go live at exactly the same as the half-time show and has asked all the news and cable networks to cover his annoucement.
Press Secretary Sean Spicer has declined to say what Trump’s announcement will be about, but he assured the American people that it will be much more important and spectacular than Lady Gaga’s performance.
CLEVELAND, Ohio (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – It’s exactly a week today before the November U.S. presidential elections, and the never-ending saga of Hillary Clinton’s emails has had little effect on her growing voter support, including from Republicans. On the other hand, it now appears that Donald Trump’s tarnished reputation with women, immigrants, Muslims, Mexicans and almost everyone in the politico-social spectrum has moved GOP-strongholds as well as battleground states into the Democratic blue column.
The latest poll of polls now show that only one state remains in the red column, and that state is Ohio.
We’re talking of course about the World Series in which all states but Ohio favor a win by the Chicago Cubs in the final, Game 7 against the Cleveland Indians.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Beleaguered Senator Leila de Lima found herself getting friendly advice from female colleagues in the Senate as she continues to be hounded by controversies regarding her alleged links with drug lords inside the New Bilibid Prison.
According to the Inquirer, De Lima was recently overheardhaving girl talk with Senators Loren Legarda and Nancy Binay at the session floor.
Legarda gave De Lima some fashion tips. She noted that De Lima, who was clad in black, looked like she had just gone to a funeral.
Binay agreed. “Wear happy colors!” she told De Lima.
As an example of colorful wardrobe, Legarda and Binay showed their photos of past red carpet ceremonies (before President Duterte scrapped it) during the presidential state of the nation address.
“And drop that scarf,” both senators told De Lima.
