QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Philippines’ Vice President Leni Robredo has asked Mark Zuckerberg to terminate Facebook’s partnership with Vera Files to fact-check news and information on social media.
Robredo’s demand comes just hours after Vera Files fact-checked Robredo’s claim in a recent speech at the London School of Economics that some provinces have consistently made it to the Top 10 list of the poorest in the country.
Vera Files tagged the VP’s statement as ‘False.’
That angered Robredo who said that Vera Files should lay off its hands from the Office of the Vice President and should just focus on bloggers and DDS (Duterte Die-hard Supporters) socmed warriors.
’Vera Files has no right to embarrass the Office of the Vice President,’ Robredo spokesperson Georgina Hernandez told The Adobo Chronicles. ‘Besides, it’s very disrespecetful to the VP,’ she added.
