MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In a recent interview on  the American TV show, “60 Minutes,” Rappler CEO Maria Ressa described the Philippines under Rodrigo Duterte as the “worst war zone” she’s ever been in.

Ressa’s comment didn’t sit well with millions of peace-loving Filipino netizens who immediatly took to their social media accounts to mark themselves “safe from Maria Ressa’s Philippine war zone.”

So for Filipinos living abroad, there’s nothing to worry about regarding your families and loved ones in the Philippines.

Drug Czar Leni Robredo Forms Her Own Team

downloadMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Buoyed up by her appointment as Co-chair of the Inter-agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD), Vice President Leni Robredo today formed her own team to help her oversee the country’s war on drugs.

In her first official action as Drug Czar, Robredo told The Adobo Chronicles that she has tapped the expert services of Otso Diretso, the Opposition team that lost big-time in the 2019 Senatorial elections.

“I couldn’t think of any other group of dedicated and passionate individuals who can help me win the war on drugs than these eight individuals,” Robredo said.

“We’re on our way towards totally eliminating illegal drugs in our beloved country,” she added. “This is the beginning of the resurrection of our Liberal Party — the true party of the Filipino people.”
