Rappler’s icymi question to readers boomerangs

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Online ‘news source’ Rappler likes to ask readers nonsensical questions in its ICYMI (In Case You Missed It) series, and one such question was asking what people’s thoughts were regarding Interior Secretary Eduardo Año’s recent statement that the sin of Nuezca is not the sin of the Entire Philippine National Police.

Nuezca is the police officer who fatally shot a neighbor mother and son in Tarlac over a supposed argument on the right of way.

In response, many netizens pointed out that the crime of Maria Ressa (Rappler’s CEO) is not the crime of all journalists.

Ressa was convicted of cyber libel and is facing other criminal charges, inclusion tax evasion.

Moral of the story: don’t ask questions that could get back right at you!

Doris Bigornia Reacts to Pinoy Ako Blog’s Offensive Tweet

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – A battle of witches and bitches is brewing in the horizon.

ABS-CBN reporter Doris Bigornia has reacted violently to a tweet by Pinoy Ako Blog’s Jover Laurio who asked her followers to stop posting a video of that “witch.”

Bigornia, who just recently was involved in a nasty online exchange with Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) spokesperson Celine Pialago, had a comeback for Laurio.

Bigornia said, “Well if I’m a witch, then Laurio is a bitch.”

Truth be told, Laurio wasn’t referring to Bigornia in the tweet, rather to blogger Jam Magno.

Bato bato sa langit, ang tamaan huwag magalit. (Just try Google for a translation of this Filipino saying,)

PHILIPPINES’ SENATE PRESIDENT WOULD RATHER BE POISONED THAN VACCINATED

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Taking to Twitter to respond to suggestions that politicians should be the first to be vaccinated for Covid-19, the Philippines’ Senate President Tito Sotto shocked his countrymen with his reply.

He says he’d rather be poisoned than vaccinated for free.

Sotto also mischaracterized the new Covid-19 vaccines as “98% good.” The FDA-approved vaccines are about 95% effective, according to the manufacturers and FDA review panels.

The honorable Senator also must have forgotten that murder is a crime. Including poisoning someone.
