In the latest episode of “The Cabinet Chronicles,” the conspicuous absence of Vice President Sara Duterte from the rankings of a survey raises eyebrows faster than a politician’s promise before elections. Is the Department of Education, helmed by Duterte, now deemed a VIP-only club? Or perhaps, Duterte’s department ascended to the pantheon of “Hall of Famers,” exempt from scrutiny? 

Alternatively, did the survey hit a snag with its funding, accidentally dipping into Duterte’s confidential funds, hence a conflict of interest? Or perhaps, were the pollsters afraid that Duterte topping the survey is a foregone conclusion, or flipping the coin, will rank lower than her colleagues?

Whatever the reason, it’s a comedy of errors that even a fifth-grader could unravel. With such a glaring oversight, the survey risks becoming a punchline rather than a pinnacle of public opinion. 

In the grand theater of politics, this latest act is more farce than fact, leaving Filipinos shaking their heads and wondering if they stumbled into a political satire instead of a serious assessment.
