Basté More Gutsy Than Sara Duterte!

In the chronicles of Duterte bravado, Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte is now showing he has even more guts than his Vice President sister, Sara Duterte.

Who could forget when Sara’s fist landed on the face of court sheriff Abe Andres, who dared to defy her request for a two-hour delay on a demolition? It was a moment of raw, unfiltered Duterte justice.

But not to be outdone, Baste has threatened to slap a police general! He had blamed the PRO XI director for his alleged criticisms of the city’s peace and order and the relief of 19 police station commanders.

While Sara’s punch is now a legend, Baste seems intent on proving that gutsiness runs in the family. His threat isn’t just about meting out swift justice but about outshining his sister in the arena of bold, audacious actions. It’s not quite “like sister, like brother”—it’s more like “brother surpassing sister.” In the Duterte family saga, the competition for who has the most mettle keeps the drama alive.

Like Fish, Atty. Roque Caught By His Own Mouth! (video)

In a twist worthy of a comedy of errors, former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, known for his eloquence, found himself ensnared by his own tongue during a Senate committee hearing on POGO operations.

Denying ownership of the Tuba, Benguet house where suspects were nabbed, Roque’s notorious verbosity got the better of him. With a flourish, he inadvertently declared, “aking bahay” (my house), turning a simple denial into a self-incriminating confession.

Like a fish caught by its own mouth, Roque’s slip of the tongue proved that sometimes, the truth is just a word away—even when one is a master of many words.
