Atty. Harry Roque, Spokesperson For China (Video)

Atty. Harry Roque’s recent assertion that rallying against China’s incursion into the South China Sea is merely a distraction from economic issues is as perplexing as it is revealing. It’s like suggesting we ignore a burglar in our house because catching them would disrupt our Netflix marathon.

By advocating this, Roque essentially proposes turning a blind eye to territorial violations in exchange for financial gain, akin to letting a bully steal our lunch money in return for a few crumbs from their table.

It’s a baffling logic that equates national sovereignty with the profitability of POGOs (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators). Perhaps next, we’ll be advised to auction off our heritage sites to the highest bidder to balance the budget.

If Roque’s stance reflects the government’s strategic thinking, we might as well rename the country to the Republic of POGO-Land and be done with it.

Leni Robredo Proposes Foam Balls For Lato-Lato

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Just hours after being called out for a video clip showing her playing with lato-lato, ex-Vice President Leni Robredo apologized and proposed a new design for the popular toy.

Also known as ‘clackers,’ the toy is made of two plastic spheres suspended on a single string which makes a loud clacking sound when swung up and down.

Philippine authorities have warned against the dangers of lato-lato, including injury to inexperienced players. Some are calling for a total ban because of the annoying noise the toys produce. Already, a Barangay in Old Balara in Quezon City has issued an ordinance banning the sale and use of the lato.

Robredo is proposing to lato manufacturers to use foam balls instead. This will not only prevent injury but also eliminate unnerving noise the toy produces.
