Netizens Accuse GMA News Of Rehashing Old Adobo Chronicles Story!

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio City Bureau) – The famous, man-made Burnham Lake in Baguio City has turned blue, as reported on February 14 by GMA News.

But the report is old news.

Way back in 2020, The Adobo Chronicles reported that the Department of Energy and Natural Resources (DENR) has replaced the lake with blue water from the Pacific Ocean.

GMA News failed to acknowledge its source of its report, but AC is not complaining. We’ll just charge it to experience: when life imitates satire!

Maria Ressa Reprimands Rappler Staff For News Report!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – A furious Maria Ressa reprimanded her own staff at Rappler for publishing a news report regarding an SWS survey on their own online portal.

The survey showed that 89% of Filipinos were satisfied with how Democracy works in the Philippines. The survey runs counter to Ressa’s claims here and abroad that Philippine Democracy is threatened by government efforts to suppress Freedom of the Press, as well as what she describes as disinformation on social media.

In an hour-long staff meeting, the Rappler CEO castigated her staff for allowing to publish the report which puts her in an embarrassing situation with the folks at the Nobel Prize Committee as well as her blind supporters among the Western media.

Short of terminating her employees, Ressa warned that a repeat of the blunder will automatically mean pink slips for the staff.

Rappler Leads Big In False Asia’s Year-end Satirical News Survey!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Maria Ressa’s blog site Rappler, added yet another star to its ever-growing list of accolades in False Asia’s 2022 year-end Survey on Philippine satirical news sites.

Rappler was the runaway leader in the popularity poll conducted during the last week of December, 2022. It garnered 80%, registering a 20% increase from its ranking in June last year.

The distant runners-up were the Philippine Daily New Society (PDNS) and The Adobo Chronicles, which elicited 8% vote each among the respondents.

ABS-CBN clinched the bottom spot at 4%.

The survey has a zero percent margin of error, so the numbers are final and infallible.
