Palit-Bise Rally Attendance Debate Finally Settled

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It’s been two days since that Palit-Bise rally was held at Luneta by Duterte supporters, but the debate still rages on as to what the actual number was of total attendees.  Was it 4,000, 50,000, 100,000?

To settle the issue once and for all, The Adobo Chronicles has come up with this infographic to put in perspective the number of attendees at the April 2 Luneta rally compared with the EDSA commemoration held earlier this year.

The blue represents the Luneta rally and the yellow, the EDSA commemoration.

Editor’s Note:  The yellow graphic already includes Jim Paredes, but the blue does not yet take into account Mocha Uson since the ANC TV reporter said that the MTRCB Board Member was not able to attend the Luneta event.

Donald Trump Calls TIME Magazine Poll ‘Very Fake’

imageWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – U.S. President Donald Trump has called CNN ‘fake news.’ Now he’s calling a TIME Magazine poll ‘very fake.’

Trump was reacting to an online poll being conducted by TIME, asking its readers to vote for whomever they think should be included in the magazine’s 2017 100 Most Influential People in the world.

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte is No. 1 in the poll and has remained in that spot since the poll first went public.  Duterte is leading with 5% of of the votes.  The next group of celebrities is trailing with 3% of the votes and includes Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Microsoft’s Bill Gates, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Pope Francis and Canada’s Justin Trudeau.

Trump’s standing is at 2% which he shares with 25 other personalities.

Of course, the narcissistic president is not happy, saying it is unbelievable that the president of a third world country is topping the poll and that he (Trump) is way below in the ratings.

“Don’t believe the poll,” Trump said, “it is faker than fake.  Believe in it only when I become No. 1. There is time.”

The online voting closes at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on April 16.

A horse, according to The Inquirer

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – We waited to publish this story because if we did it yesterday, April 1, our readers might mistake it to be an April Fools’ joke.

Yesterday, on the front page of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, a photo appeared showing a wooden cart being drawn by a carabao.

But the Inquirer, beacon of truth and integrity in reporting the news to the Filipino people, renamed this “beast of burden” to “horse” (see their caption.)

Moral of the story:  if it’s reported in the Inquirer,  it must be true.

The Department of Education is reportedly recalling all textbooks used by elementary school children that bear illustrations of the carabao and the horse, so that it can make the appropriate revisions.

Ah, the power of media!
