Sen. Jinggoy Estrada: Like A Spurned Lover Demanding Answers (video)

Senator Jinggoy Estrada’s latest performance at the Senate was nothing short of a circus act, proving once again that he’s more interested in playing the clown than fulfilling his legislative duties.

His callous line of questioning towards Sandro Muhlach, who was visibly shaken and traumatized, was a masterclass in insensitivity. One can’t help but wonder if Estrada would maintain his bravado if it were his own son on the stand. But of course, in the Estrada universe, empathy is a foreign concept.

The committee’s “investigation” into what is essentially a criminal offense is nothing more than a farce, conveniently labeled as being “in aid of legislation.” The real question is, where does the legislation come in? Perhaps in drafting a bill on how to transform a Senate hearing into a comedy show? Because if that’s the goal, Estrada is already miles ahead.

Senator Robin Padilla And PAWS’ Neuter Program (video)

Senator Robin Padilla, the self-proclaimed defender of male sexual rights, has embarked on a noble quest to find the legal foundation for a man’s “heat of the moment” impulses.

After all, why should pesky concepts like consent or respect get in the way of a husband’s “natural” rights?

When faced with the absurd notion of counseling or, heaven forbid, mutual respect, Padilla heroically scoffed, dismissing these modern-day follies with the disdain they deserve. Clearly, such outdated ideas have no place in the brave new world he’s envisioning, where the sacred duty of a wife is to serve her husband unquestioningly.

Perhaps, as his search for legal justification drags on, he might find himself the perfect candidate for PAWS’ neuter program—because, really, some old dogs just need to be taught new tricks.
