Duterte Not Only A Murderer But Also A Thief, Says The Opposition

A21B5FDE-5BB1-4E43-A3DE-977AD63D2B09MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The political opposition has long accused Rodrigo Duterte of being a ‘murderer’ because of what they claim to be extrajudicial killings linked to the President’s war on drugs.

Now, the opposition has a new label for Duterte.  They’re calling him a thief.

The new accusation from the opposition came just hours after Duterte was quoted saying that he’d rob the banks in order to bring home Filipinos in Kuwait who are victims of employer abuse.

My, my, my. The opposition needs to work on their sense of humor which apparently is non-existent.

Jover Laurio’s Disbarment Case Against Atty. Larry Gadon Thrown Out!

6DE5F65E-23F9-4B3C-BA62-0D26DD067CAC.jpegMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Pinoy Ako Blog’s Jover Laurio has joined the bandwagon and filed her own disbarment complaint against Atty. Larry Gadon.

She and others accused Gadon of grossly immoral conduct for how he acted towards the protesters (among them, Laurio) in Baguio City.

Laurio wrote in her complaint: “Complainants wish to point out that Gadon raised a dirty finger against peaceful protesters supporting Chief Justice Sereno without provocation.”

Laurio proudly posted copies of her complaint on her blog on Monday, neatly arranged like a deck of cards.44464179-646A-4CEE-958C-2EBF427A3C28

However, just minutes after she filed the complaint on Tuesday, it was thrown out by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.

The Reason?  She submitted just three copies, instead of the required ten.

She was so in a hurry to take a photo of her complaint to post on her blog that she forgot 7 out of the ten Manila folders were empty.

Either that or she may be mathematically-challenged.

PET Rules: Leni Robredo’s Petition To Validate 25%-Shaded Ballots Is Moot And Academic

F580E1A9-A0BB-4ABA-8536-556544F3837EMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Faced with the prospect that her victory in the 2016 Vice Presidential Elections will all but be reversed, Leni Robredo petitioned the Supreme Court, acting as the Presidential Electoral Tribution (PET) to reconsider the latter’s decision to invalidate ballots that were not at least 50% shaded.

In her petition, Robredo said that PET should consider those ballots that were at least 25% shaded, arguing that this was the threshold earlier established by the Commission on Elections.

The invalidated ballots, among other things, had caused Robredo’s lead over Bongbong Marcos to narrow down by 5,000 votes.

But in a ruling just issued by PET, the petition is deemed practically moot and academic, considering that all the contested ballots in favor of Robredo were shaded just 24.99%.
