New Manila Airport Chief Wants To Rename NAIA After NoyNoy

image.jpegMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Newly-appointed Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal told reporters today that he will recommend to President Rod Duterte to rename the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to NoyNoy Aquino International Airport — at least temporarily.

Monreal toured NAIA yesterday and was briefed on the changes that need to happen in order to remove the airport from the list of the world’s worst.

Among the fixes needed include collapsing ceilings, power outages, flooding, stinky bathrooms, long lines and overcrowding, extortion schemes like the ‘laglag bala’ and airport taxi problems.

“It will take a several months before we can correct all these problems,” Monreal said, “but it can be done.”

However, Monreal said that he didn’t want NAIA’s problems identified with the new administration of President Duterte, so he has recommended that the airport name be changed temporarily to that of the previous president.  “After all, these problems started or became worse during the past administration,” he said.

“Once NAIA is taken off the list of the world’s worst airports, the permanent name change (back) to Manila International Airport can be implemented,” the airport chief said.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Many Filipinos are clamoring to change back the name of the Philippines’ premiere airport from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to Manila International Airport (MIA), especially after the recent change in administration from President Aquino to Rodrigo Duterte.

Alas, the Duterte administration has decided not to change the airport’s name to MIA.

Instead, the name NAIA will remain the same, only that it will stand for NoyNoy Aquino International Airport in honor of the immediate past president.

Presidential spokesperson Martin Andanar told The Adobo Chronicles that Duterte strongly believes that it is important to preserve the legacy of the previous administration as far as NAIA was concerned.

During the (NoyNoy) Aquino administration, NAIA achieved and maintained the reputation as the world’s worst airport, an honor that has put the Philippines on the world map, thanks to the laglag bala scheme (planted bullets in passengers’ luggage), collapsing ceiling, flooding, breakdown in airconditioning, brownouts, among others.

“We should give credit where credit is due,” Duterte said, “so I have directed the Manila International Airport Authority to immediately implement my directive to rename NAIA to NoyNoy Aquino International Airport.”

The good thing is, pilots and tower control personnel do not need to change the airport code when communicating with each other.  It will remain as ‘NAIA.’

Donald Trump Promises Green Cards To Mexicans Who Will Help Build Southern Border Wall

image.jpegTIJUANA, Mexico (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – We already know Donald Trump’s campaign promise to build a wall between Mexico and the U.S. southern border.

The Republican presidential candidate promised that the wall will be big, beautiful, tall and strong. Spanning 1,000 miles, he says it will stem the flow of immigrants bringing drugs and crime.

As far as who’s paying to build the wall, Trump says Mexico will.

Naturally, the Mexican government responded by saying there is no way it is going to pay to build the wall.

So, Trump has a brilliant, alternative idea.

In a campaign stop in San Diego today, near the Tijuana border, Trump announced yet another promise — this time to the citizens of Mexico.

“If elected president, I will ask volunteer Mexican citizens to help build the wall.  In return, every volunteer will be awarded with a U.S. green card, the first step towards their American citizenship.”

The Trump campaign office urged interested Mexican citizens to contact the candidate directly through his Twitter account by sending their names and contact information to @realDonaldTrump.

The deadline to sign up is July 30, 2016.
