MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Philippines holds the rare distinction of being the world’s leader when it comes to Covid-19 vaccines.
While many countries, including the U.S., U.K., Singapore, United Arab Emirates and others are now just beginning to issue Emergency Use Authorizations (EUE) and rolling out the vaccines to their populations, the Philippines is already holding Congressional hearings. No other country is doing this courageous and heroic effort by the Filipino Representatives and Senators to ensure the health and safety of their constituents.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Now we know why the Duterte government has chosen to purchase the Chinese vaccine Sinovac. The country stands to earn P7,250 for every 2 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine it buys from China.
ABS-CBN is reporting that Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez said that purchasing Sinovac through the COVAX facility would decrease the price of the vaccine by as much as 300%.
The estimated cost of Sinovac is P3,629.50 per two doses (according to figures released by Senator Sonny Angara’s office). A 100% decrease in price would make the vaccine free. Therefore a 300% decrease would mean the makers of Sinovac would owe the Philippines P7,259 for each two-doses of the vaccine.
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – Donald Trump won’t have to miss The White House beginning January 20th, when a new occupant, Joe Biden, settles in.
The Baguio City Council has unanimously passed a resolution offering Trump free and unrestricted occupancy of its own White House located along Legarda Road.
Also known as the Laperal House, it is an eye-snatcher just beside the allegedly equally spirit-infested Teachers’ Camp. There have been many stories. Some unfortunate passersby have seen a little girl standing motionless on the third step of the staircase that fronts the house. Some have spotted a woman looking out its glass windows. Some have heard angry voices and loud noises from inside the house even when it was completely empty. Others have claimed they had this awful feeling of being unwelcome and being watched. The guards are also terrified to go in at night.
There are no strings attached for the offer to Trump. The City Council says the summer capital of the Philippines will be honored to host an internationally-famous dignitary and consider him as one of its permanent, distinguished residents.
The only condition is that the soon to be ex-President of the United States won’t be allowed to make any improvements or alterations on the historic, haunted building.
As for the spirits and ghosts? Well who knows, Trump might just scare them away for good!
