Donald Trump has issued an Executive Order renaming the federal holiday as ‘Ex-Presidents’ Day.’

For many decades, the national holiday was observed to honor all past presidents of the U.S.  including the very first president, George Washington.

In signing the Exceutive Order, Trump said that ‘there can only be one sitting U.S. president, and that’s me right now. All the others are ex-presidents.’

This year, the new Ex-Presidents’ Day will be celebrated on Monday, February 19.

What Leni Robredo Regrets This Jose Rizal Day

The ceremonies were led by no less than President Rodrigo Duterte.

Vice President Leni Robredo was there, too, but with no starring role, unlike in last June 12’s celebration of Philippine Independence Day.

At the Independence Day festivities, also held at Luneta, Duterte missed what was supposed to be his first Independence Day celebration as President.  He had urgent things to do that day.

So it was Robredo who led the ceremonies, leading to that viral photo showing her making that awkward hand salute.  Many critics not only scoffed at her hand gesture but also pointed out that only those in military uniform should be making a salute.

So why is Robredo disappointed despite being at Luneta for Rizal Day?

In an ambush interview by The Adobo Chronicles with Robredo’s right-hand woman extraordinaire Georgina Hernandez, she intimated that the Vice President had practiced making the correct and proper salute since June 12, hoping that she can rectify her error come December 30.

But alas, Duterte was there and did just perfectly with his hand salute, while Robredo watched from a distance holding back her tears. “That could have been me,” she was heard whispering as the President saluted the flag and the Rizal Monument.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Philippine Senate has its hands full these days — especially around health issues.

It hasn’t yet concluded its hearing on the bungled Dengvaxia vaccine which has been administered to more than 800,000 Filipino school kids but already, it has lined up another health investigation.  This time, it has something to do with Raissa Robles’ Marcos Martial Law book, ‘Never Again.’

Hospital emergency rooms are reporting a sudden spike in nosebleed cases.  While the cause of the nosebleed remains a mystery, authorities have established a common denominator among the emergency cases: all of them developed the strange phenomenon while reading Robles’ book.

Is it a virus imbedded in the book’s pages?  Is it a case of witchcraft? Or does this border on the ‘miraculous?’
