Philippines’ Bureau Of Customs Seizes Fake Samsung TVs!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Samsung is definitely one of the leading brands in smart phones and electronics, but this reputation may have been tarnished after the Bureau of Customs seized a container of television sets that arrived at the Port of Manila.

Although the shipment from South Korea had the proper import documentation, a random check by Customs personnel showed that the items were fake.

An inspector turned on one of the shipped TV sets and lo and behold, it flashed a different brand: SMASNUG!

The shipment has been quarantined for further investigation.

This is a developing story.

Leni Robredo Wants To Stop Comelec Release Of Election 2022 Transmission Log

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Just hours after the Philippines’ Commission Elections (Comelec) announced it was ready to publicly release the transmission log in the 2022 Presidential elections, defeated candidate Atty. Leni Robredo asked the poll body to desist from doing so.

The Comelec was responding to requests for the release of the transmission log in connection with 20 Million votes that came in after the polls closed on May 9, 2022.

Bongbong Marcos defeated Robredo in a landslide vote.

Asked by The Adobo Chronicles, Robredo said that her own lawyers and computer experts had already said they did not find any incidence of election cheating.

“Besides the release of the transmission log could only prove that I lost the election by an overwhelming vote of the Filipino people. That would be adding insult to injury,” she said.

The former VP added that she would prefer a cloud of doubt to hover over the election results so that she could at least hold on to her dignity as a candidate.

The term “Mrs.” Deleted from Philippine Civil Code

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – If a woman’s maiden name is Maria Clara and marries Mr. Ibarra Rizal, she will no longer be called “Mrs. Rizal,” thanks to a House Bill passed recently.

The bill allows married women to retain their maiden name.

So now, it will be more difficult to determine whether a woman is married or not because she will continue to be called “Miss” or “Ms.” regardless of martial status — assuming the Senate and the President give their stamp of approval.
