Make Way For Nutribun 2.0: New And Improved!

DAVAO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Davao City Bureau) – Nutribun is a baked product developed by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). This soy-fortified bread flour improved the nutritive value of cereal-based food

USAID tapped the government of President Ferdinand E. Marcos to introduce the product in the Philippines in 1970 to help combat child malnutrition and serve as emergency food during disasters.

Now, nutribun is coming back, under the administration of Marcos’ son, President Bongbong Marcos and Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte.

It is being described as Nutribun 2.0, and is an “enhanced” version of the original product, complete with different nutritious flavors.

If history repeats itself, so does nutribun, albeit new and improved!

Philippine Government Asks Court To Issue “Cease and Desist” Order Against Bb. Maharlika!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – Former President Rodrigo Duterte once suggested that the Philippines be renamed “Maharlika,” as advocated by then President Ferdinand E. Marcos.

The word originally meant “freeman” and referred to warrior class in the country’s pre-colonial past.

The revered word has recently been used to name President Bongbong Marcos’ “wealth fund.”

It is for the above reasons that the Philippine government has filed for a “cease and desist” order against Los Angeles-based Filipino Vlogger, Bb. Maharlika whose real name is Claire Eden Contreras.

Contreras is known in social media circles as a “turncoat,” supporting then attacking the Marcoses. Her tirades have been targeting the First Lady, Liza Marcos.

In filing the petition, the Solicitor General told the court that Contreras is a disgrace to the historical and patriotic significance of Maharlika. “Her gossip-mongering and attempts to climb the social ladder are abominable,” the SolGen told The Adobo Chronicles.

Senator Raffy Tulfo Files Wrong Bill!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Senator Raffy Tulfo promised during his campaign that he would propose legislation that would strengthen the existing “Anti-Terror Law.”

Alas, his legislative staff and interns misunderstood his instructions and instead came up with a proposed “Anti-Taray Bill.”

The proposed measure wants to impose tougher penalties on government workers guilty of misconduct, harassment and even human rights violations.

Once passed into law, the Anti-Taray Bill will sanction rude and snobbish government workers with dismissal from service and perpetual disqualification from public office.

So as not to waste the time and effort spent by his staff, Tulfo went ahead and filed the bill.
