Rodrigo Duterte, Leni Robredo Set To Join President Marcos’ Cabinet!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Now that the one-year ban on the appointment to government positions of losing candidates in the 2022 Philippine elections is over, expect a flurry of new Cabinet appointments under the administration of President Bongbong Marcos.

But two particular pending appointments are getting much attention.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte and ex-Vice President Leni Robredo are being groomed to Cabinet-level positions.

Reliable sources tell The Adobo Chronicles that Duterte will head the NTF-ELCAC while Robredo will be the new boss of the Presidential Security Group (PSG). Both positions will be elevated to Cabinet status.

The Adobo Chronicles snapped this photo of Duterte and Robredo while waiting to be interviewed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin. First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos reportedly gave her blessings to the new potential appointments.

AC Survey: Majority Of Filipinos Would Prefer To Be A Commonwealth Under U.K.!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Gone are the days when Filipinos pinned their high hopes that someday, the Philippines will become the 51st state of the United States. The colonial mentality favoring Uncle Sam seems to be waning.

In an impromptu survey conducted by The Adobo Chronicles on coronation day for King Charles III, a vast majority of Filipinos say they favor a Commonwealth government under the United Kingdom.

Asked for their reasons, many said the Philippines has much more in common with the British than with Americans, foremost of which is the obsession for royalty, for Kings and Queens.

In Filipino culture, powerful and influential people are treated as kings, while women (including trans women) are looked up to as queens. Hence the Filipinos’ love affair with beauty pageants.

Even the residence of the Philippine President is called a palace.

One respondent pointed out that “we don’t even have to build those horse-driven carriages that British Royals use — we already have our own kalesas.

Another said Filipinos wouldn’t have to secure visas to travel to the U.K. and other Commonwealth countries.

Finally, many Pinoys surveyed said that they also love the British accent — very classy!

Will Sass Rogando Sasot Object To President Marcos Calling Paul McCartney Or Elton John ‘Sir?’

WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Netherlands-based vlogger Sass Rogando Sasot found it a big deal when Philippine President Bongbong Marcos called U.S. President Joe Biden ‘sir’ three times when the two heads of state met at The White House this week. She didn’t state her reasons, but all the insinuations are there.

Marcos is now in London to attend the coronation of Prince Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla.

There is a big chance that Marcos will cross paths with legendary singers Paul McCartney and Elton John – both have been “Knighted” by the Royals.

Will Sasot then raise hell if Marcos calls either of them “Sir?”

Stay tuned.
