Philippine Senator Risa Hontiveros Raises Wrong Issue With The Wrong China!

TAIPEI, Taiwan (The Adobo Chronicles, Taipei Bureau) – Philippine Senator Risa Hontiveros may have been confused, or simply ignorant when she recently met with Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen.

The opposition senator took pride in bringing up with Ing-wen the issue on the West Philippine Sea in which the Philippines is involved in a territorial dispute with the People’s Republic of China.

Hontiveros may not have been briefed beforehand that the Philippines adheres to a “One China Policy,”recognizing that PRC is the only legitimate China.

Or did the senator think Taiwan can help resolve the Philippines’ issue with PRC? Or worse, did she think she was meeting with the president of PRC?

Many believe that while she is a senator, Hontiveros does not have authority to speak on behalf of the Executive Department regarding a policy issue that truly belongs to the Philippine president, i.e., President Bongbong Marcos.

President Marcos Appoints Leni Robredo Third Co-Vice Chair Of NTF-Elcac!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The big news this week is the designation of Vice President Sara Duterte as Co-Vice Chair of the NTF-Elcac, the anti-communist insurgency task force of the Philippine government.

But wait, Marcos has just appointed ex-Vice President Leni Robredo as the 3rd co-Vice Chair of the task force.

Robredo told The Adobo Chronicles that “let bygones be bygones,” adding that she is confident she will do well as an appointee to this important agency.

It will be recalled that during the Rodrigo Duterte administration, Robredo was appointed, then fired, twice. First as Housing Secretary, then as “Drug Czar.”

But appointments are lovelier, the third time around!

BREAKING: Leni Robredo Accepts New Position In President Marcos’ Cabinet!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Earlier, The Adobo Chronicles reported that President Bongbong Marcos is considering the appointment of former President Rodrigo Duterte and ex-Vice President Leni Robredo to his Cabinet.

Duterte was being groomed to be the head of NTF-ELCAC while Robredo has been asked to join as head of the Presidential Security Group, a new Cabinet position that involves the security and protection of the First Family as well as former Presidents and Vice Presidents and their families.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin tells The Adobo Chronicles that Robredo has immediately accepted the appointment without second thoughts.

Robredo says it is an honor to be part of the Marcos administration under the President’s campaign promise of unity.

Let bygones be bygones…
