Even Philippine President Duterte Says Trump Should Drop Out

imageMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – A growing number of Republican leaders have disavowed Donald Trump following the surfacing of an audio tape in which he bragged about kissing and groping women.  Former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice is among the latest GOP stalwarts to call for the Republican presidential candidate to drop out of the race.

Today, even the foul-mouthed, cussing and controversial Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte said Trump should quit the race.

Duterte has often been called by the media the “Donald Trump of the Philippines,” while others have referred to Trump as the “Duterte of the United States.”

In recent weeks, Duterte has gained the ire of America because of his rhetoric against President Obama.

Now it seems Americans are starting to love Duterte for calling out Trump!

Teddy Boy Locsin : I’m Sorry But Not Really

img_6080MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Teddy Boy Locsin, the newly-appointed Philippine ambassador to the United Nations, is in hot water because of a series of Twitter comments he made that were offensive to the Jewish people. In the tweets, he also threatened individuals who criticized him.

But in a stunning turnaround, the former congressman and journalist profusely apologized for his comments, apparently upon orders of his own daughter:

But Locsin’s apologies didn’t last very long.

At 4:00 in the morning, while his daughter was fast asleep, the feisty ambassador-elect managed to sneak in one more Twitter comment. He even used blue font, perhaps for emphasis:

Shhhh! Don’t tell his daughter…

NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Minutes after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump posted a taped “apology” for what he said about women in 2005, he immediately called Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for advice.

Trump’s apology stemmed from an explosive audio tape released yesterday in which he said he bragged to TV host Billy Bush that he would forcibly kiss and grope women.

His 15-minute phone conversation with the controversial Philippine president focused on how he could come out of this latest controversy and still gain the trust and approval of the American voters.

Duterte has become world-famous because of his colorful language, joking about rape and catcalling women reporters. The former Davao City mayor had also used cuss words which were supposedly directed at the pope, President Obama, the United Nations and the European Union (EU).

“How do you do it,” Trump reportedly asked Duterte, “and still have a 91% approval rating by the Filipino people?”

Reliable sources told The Adobo Chronicles that Duterte advised Trump that “words alone don’t matter, actions do.”

Despite his colorful language and controversial statements, Duterte has been credited for significant positive changes in the Philippines since he assumed the presidency 100 days ago today.
