VP Leni Robredo’s Amazing Support For Senator Leila De Lima

img_9365MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Embattled Senator Leila De Lima may be at odds with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, but she has 101% support from the Vice President.

As of press time, De Lima is holed up in her Senate office, waiting for the warrant of arrest to be served in connection with one of the drug trafficking cases filed against her. 

Our Adobo Chronicles’ star photographer chanced upon Robredo waiting at the gates of the New Bilibid Prisons (see photo) where the senator is expected to join her former colleagues and casual acquaintances.

In the meantime, VP Leni Robredo sent her a sweet tweet early this morning, showing her unequivocal support for De Lima:

VP Leni Robredo Asks FilAm Millionaire Loida Nicolas-Lewis For P1 Million To Make EDSA Commemoration More Elaborate

img_9341MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo has expressed disappointment that the Duterte administration has allocated only P1 million for a simple and quiet 31st  commemoration of the EDSA people’s power revolution.

Despite the austere preparations, Palace officials said it would respect the intent of some groups, including the critics of President Duterte’s campaign against illegal drugs.

But Vice President Leni Robredo believes it deserves more than a simple and quiet commemoration as she underscored the importance of reverence to the past in order to “ensure quality of direction in our future.”

So, Robredo sent a Facebook private message to FilAm millionaire and Duterte critic Loida Nicolas-Lewis to match the P1 million from the Duterte administration to fund the EDSA commemoration.

“A P2 million budget would definitely be much better,” Robredo said.

The Adobo Chronicles asked Robredo how the matching P1 million from Lewis will be used.  She said it can go towards paying Filipinos to show up at the EDSA commemoration.

Donald Trump Unveils Design Of Border Wall Between U.S. And Mexico

img_9318WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – True to his campaign promise, Donald Trump has given the go-signal to start the construction of his Great Wall along the U.S. southern border with Mexico.

Today, he unveiled the winning design for the wall at an impromptu press briefing at the South Lawn of The White House.

The 40-foot wall design was chosen from thousands of submissions from certified Republican artists.
