MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – If there is one good reason for the Philippine Senate to be so eager to conduct an impeachment hearing on the case of ousted Supreme Court Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, it is the prospect of donning the new impeachment robe.
Almost everyone agrees that the maroon-colored robe worn by Senators in the last impeachment hearing was tacky and reminds Filipinos of the similarly-colored velvet cloth used on religious icons and statues.
So a new design is in order.
Unfortunately, the Senators are divided over the color and design of the new robe. The choices range from black to purple to orange to black & red. Some Senators want to go more ethnic like the formal wear displayed by Ifugao Congressman Teddy Baguilat during a past year’s SONA.

So the Senate is asking the help of Adobo Chronicles readers and followers. Let’s help them decide. Give your input in the comments section.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – A majority of the senators have banded together to ask the Supreme Court to review its decision to unseat Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno through a quo warranto petition and defend the Senate’s jurisdiction over impeachable officials.
In a Facebook poll conducted by The Adobo Chronicles, 99% of respondents replied with ‘Hell, YES,’ when asked if the Supreme Court should strip Sereno of the position of Chief Magistrate. Only 1% said, “For Heaven’s sake, NO!”
