Leni Robredo Comes To The Defense Of Smartmatic: ‘They’re My Hero’

MANILA. Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Days after Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to ditch Smartmarmatic, VP Leni Robredo came to the defense of the automated election system (AES)  vendor and service provider.

During the recent midterm elections, Smartmatic  has come under fire for glitches and gaffes which led some to question the integrity of results.  It is the same Smartmatic that caused an uproar and election protest in the 2016 elections which resulted in the loss to Robredo by VP candidate Bongbong Marcos by a narrow margin.

Robredo said that Comelec should not rush to ditch Smartmatic. “They’re my hero and the wind beneath my wings,’  she told The Adobo Chronicles. “If not for them, I wouldn’t be sitting in Vice President’s chair right now.”

”We have always been taught not to bite the hand that feeds us. In a sense, that hand for me is Smartmatic so I’m throwing my 100% support behind them. I will oppose any and all efforts to ditch them.”

MMDA Plan To Ban Provincial Buses On EDSA Gets Support From Leni Robredo

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Unless the courts step in to issue a restraining order, the MMDA plan to ban provincial buses and terminals on EDSA is set to kick in on June 1st.

Under the brilliant plan by luxury car-owning execs at MMDA, Metro Manila passengers going north like Baguio will have to hop on a city bus — luggage, bayong and Balikbayan box in tow —to Valenzuela City to take a provincial bus to Baguio.

Those going south like Bicol will have to take a city bus to Santa Rosa, Laguna to catch a provincial bus to their final destination.

Bicol, did you say?

Well, the country’s No. 1 (or is it No. 2?) Bicolana — Vice President Leni Robredo has thrown her 100% support for the MMDA plan.

”Sanay akong maghintay ng city bus along the highway, on my way to take the provincial bus to Naga, just like most people from the laylayan do,” she told The Adobo Chronicles.

Many will recall the viral photo of Robredo waiting to hail a bus from underneath an unnamed underpass in Metro Manila.

So she knows the drill, and has no problem whatsoever with the controversial MMDA plan.

Palace Admits: Duterte Is Sick!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Rappler’s website has a compilation of its own stories about Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte’s health. A photo that has been circulating on social media shows Duterte supposedly wearing a colostomy bag. His Hong Kong trips with his family were said to be appointments with doctors. The news media have been fascinated at his darkening skin color. Many wondered why he napped through the distribution of diplomas at last week’s graduation ceremonies at the Philippine Military Academy.

Today — once and for all — Malacañang Palace finally admitted that the President is sick. Very sick.

”He’s sick and tired of all the rumors and speculations about his health, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo told members of the Malacañang Press Corpse (not a typo).

To end it all, Panelo said: “I have news for you. Si Duterte ay isang masamang damo na matagal mamatay (Duterte is bad grass that won’t die for a long time). So, you scheming yellow politicians and destabilizers, foreign-funded news media and netizen trolls — you can all eat your heart out.  Duterte is not going anywhere, and you can kill your hallucinations about Leni Robredo becoming President any time soon, or ever.”

End of story.
