Duterte Orders Closure of Baguio City For Six Months

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – President Rodrigo Duterte has had it with Baguio City’s evironmental and other problems. He has ordered the closure of the Philippines’ Summer Capital for six months.

This after the Department  of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) announced on Saturday, June 29, that it has ordered the closure of the Irisan open dumpsite in Baguio City. This has prompted garbage collectors to  inform city residents that they will no longer be collecting biodegradable trash.

”I cannot allow the site of my (Presidential)  Summer Mansion House to be in a stinking city,” Duterte said.

Duterte had previously closed Boracay island for rehabilition, with great success. He expects to do the same for Baguio.

New Senators Marcos, Go, De La Rosa Mull PH Constitutional Amendment

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In the midst of a growing clamor among the political opposition to impeach President Rodrigo Duterte for failing to defend the Philippines’ terrotorial claims in the South China Sea as mandated by the Constitutiion, new Senators have put forward a proposal to amend the fundamental law of the land.

It has nothing to do with Duterte.

In an exclusive interview with The Adobo Chronicles, neophite Senators Imee Marcos, Bong Go and Bato De La Rosa said they will co-sponsor a proposal to immediately amend the 1987 Constitution.

One of their proposals is to make stupidity among elected and appointed officials an impeachable offense, carrying with it a penalty of lifetime disquslification from any public office.

It wasn’t clear if the trio’s proposal was an offshoot of Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin’s recent tweet calling Vice President Leni Robredo ‘boba’ (stupid) for criticizing DFA’s decision to revoke all courtesy diplomatic passports of ex-government officials.

No comment yet from the Office of the Vice President.
