Sarah Palin: “I Actually Voted For Hillary”

WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Now it can be revealed, straight from the horse’s mouth:  Sarah Palin actually voted for Hillary Clinton in last year’s U.S. presidential election.

“Gender affinity sometimes eclipses political or party ideology,” the former Alaska governor told The Adobo Chronicles, following her visit with Donald Trump at The White House.

“I failed in my bid to become the first woman Vice President,” she said, “but I was hoping that Hillary could be the face of women power in America by being the first woman President.”

Palin was so elated for having been invited to The White House, but not necessarily to meet with Trump, but to have her photo taken in front of Hillary’s portrait.

Mission accomplished!

Philippine Transgender Congresswoman Challenges Senator Pacquiao To A Fist Fight

IMG_9201.PNGQUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Whenever one hears the name Manny Pacquiao, boxing always comes to mind.  Like a fist fight. And that’s exactly the challenge hurled at the boxer-turned-senator by a Philippine transgender congresswoman.

Geraldine Roman of the first district of Bataan and the first transgender legislator in the Philippines, told The Adobo Chronicles today that she is willing to engage Pacquiao in a fist fight to settle once and for all the senator’s Bible assertion that women should dress like women, and men like men.

Pacquiao made the statement during deliberations on Senate Bill 1271 that seeks to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity or expression (SOGIE).

The senator also said that crossdressing can lead to “fraud” and subsequently to murder, apparently in reference to transgender woman Jennifer Laude who was killed by US Marine Pfc. Joseph Scott Pemberton in 2014. Pemberton said he choked Laude to death after learning that the person he brought back to his hotel room was a transgender woman.

“I expect Pacquiao to be man enough to accept this challenge from a woman — fist to fist, with no bible in hand,” Roman said.

Women’s Group Gabriela Doesn’t Want Maxine Medina To Win Miss Universe Crown

IMG_8746.PNGMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Just weeks ago, Gabriela Rep. Arlene Brosas opposed the hosting of the Miss Universe pageant in the Philippines, calling it an objectification of women and a cover-up of the country’s societal problems.

Brosas said the hosting was a “manipulative and deceptive tool that projects an image of peace and stability to cover up the creeping influence of fascist repression of poor women’s rising protests.”

Now, the activist women’s group is again making headlines, saying that it doesn’t want the Philippines’ representative, Maxine Medina, to win in next week’s pageant.

A spokesperson for Gabriela said that “for Miss Philippines to win the crown when the pageant is being held here will reflect badly on the country.  It will be perceived as a “hometown decision.”

“Furthermore, a back-to-back win by the Philippines in the popular pageant will give the wrong impression that Filipinas are desperate to wear beauty crowns,” the spokesperson said.

Gabriela however said that it will be okay if Miss Philippines won first runner-up, especially if Miss Colombia ends up winning the title. (Last year, pageant host Steve Harvey erroneously announced Miss Colombia as the winner, instead of Miss Philippines.)
