MILEY CYRUS IS LAST-MINUTE CHOICE TO SING OSCAR-NOMINATED SONG ‘LET IT GO’

imageHollywood, California – ‘Let It Go,’ from the Disney animated film ‘Frozen’ is considered by many as the frontrunner to win the Oscar for Best Song.

Composed by Filipino American Robert Lopez and wife Kristen, the nominated song was all set to be performed live for the first time by singer/actress Idina Menzel who was the voice behind the film’s Queen Elsa.  But things happen. Menzel has come down with the flu and will not be able to perform at Sunday’s Academy Awards show.

But no worries, Disney producers have chosen a replacement to sing the song at The Oscars: Miley Cyrus.  And it will be a very elaborate production, Disney style. The Adobo Chronicles learned that while Cyrus will not be twerking like she did at the last MTV Music Video Awards, she will be chained to a sculpted block of ice wearing the same outfit she wore at the MTV show, which means practically nothing. The ice is timed to fully melt by the time Cyrus ends the song. Then she will be “let go.” image

A national organization called Moms For Wholesome TV is planning to picket the awards show at the Dolby Theater to protest Cyrus’ performance. “The Oscars are supposed to be a family-oriented show, and to subject our young kids to more of Cyrus’ runaway x-rated performances is just unacceptable and immoral, especially if she sings a nominated song from a kids’ movie,” the moms said.

THE OSCARS’ RED CARPET WILL NOT BE RED AT ALL.

imageHollywood, California – Hollywood is known for its radical and out-of -this-world ideas, and this year’s Oscar ceremonies are not an exception.

When the stars alight from their rented limousines, they will be stepping on the red carpet. Except that the carpet will not be red.

The board of governors the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences unanimously voted to approve a plan to  install a rainbow-colored carpet  that will line the arrival area just outside of the Dolby Theater, venue of the 2014 Oscar ceremonies. The decision is Hollywood’s way of celebrating last year’s banner year for marriage equality in the country. To date, 17 of the U.S. states have now legalized same-sex marriage through legislation, the ballot box or the courts.

This announcement sent dozens and dozens of Hollywood stars scrambling to shop for alternative gowns and colors that would not be lost amid the multi-colored walkway.

This year’s production team also sent notices to the stars that as part of the goal to cut down the overall time for the ceremonies by at least two hours, no one will be allowed more than a minute to move through the entire 50-yard walkway. Ladies have been advised to strut along while the men have been asked to jog across the rainbow carpet.image

The queen of fashion police, Joan Rivers, and her daughter were reportedly fuming at this new development, along with the fashion commentators from the major television and cable networks. “It will not only significantly cut our advertising revenue but also the fun that goes with criticizing the gowns, handbags, shoes, jewelry and hair-do’s of the actors, actresses and other celebrities,” they complained.

The national lgbt advocacy organization, the Human Rights Campaign, praised the decision as expected.

NSA LEAK REVEALS OSCAR WINNERS IN ADVANCE OF THE ACADEMY AWARDS SHOW

oscarsHollywood, California – The National Security Administration (NSA) continues to be in hot water in connection with leaks of classified information.  Apparently, not even Hollywood is exempt from the monitoring of phone calls and emails by the U.S. government.

In the latest breach of secret and embargoed information, an NSA intern has intercepted  an electronic document from Price Waterhouse Cooper, the official independent auditors of the Oscars, which contains the list of winners in the various categories of the 2014 Academy Awards.  The announcement of winners is scheduled for March 2 during ceremonies at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.  The intern leaked the document to TMZ as well as The Adobo Chronicles.

The editorial boards of both TMZ and The Adobo Chronicles have decided not to publish the leaked information, except for “Best Picture.”  The Oscar is going to “12 Years A Slave.” They have also decided to at least provide a clue as to who will win the Oscar for “Actress in a Supporting Role.”  The clue:  it is NOT going to be Jennifer Lawrence.

This is the second big controversy faced by this year’s Oscars.  A few weeks ago, The Adobo Chronicles reported that Ellen DeGeneres withdrew from her role as host for this year’s ceremonies because the producers did not grant her request to include in her opening monologue an actual wedding ceremony with her spouse, Portia de Rossi.  The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has not announced Ellen’s replacement.  We wonder if NSA has that information.
