PHOENIX, Arizona (The Adobo Chronicles) – Singer Katy Perry is no stranger to controversy when it comes to what she wears during her concerts and television appearances — from her yellow-face Geisha costume at the American Music Awards to her infamous provocative attire on the children’s show Sesame Street. The latter never aired.

Now, fans and critics alike are going gaga over what she might wear during her half-time show performance at this year’s Super Bowl XLIX  scheduled for February 1, 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona. Will she offend audiences with  racist antics or theatrics?

The Adobo Chronicles was given an exclusive sneak peek into Perry’s half-time show performance.  Both fans and critics can breathe a sigh of relief.

We are not at liberty to divulge all the details of Perry’s 15-minute performance at the National Football League (NFL) Championship Game, but we can tell you that she will be singing a medley of her top hits. There will be no inappropriate costumes– not even the slightest chance of a wardrobe malfunction.

More importantly, the concert queen will be racially and culturally sensitive and will not offend any single racial minority who will be watching live or on TV.

Perry will have a total of seven costume changes during her performance. Through the magic of choreography, props and stage lighting, all costume changes will happen on stage!

As  to what she will be wearing, Perry will don  costumes that will be representative of each of the world’s seven continents. “No one will be left out,” she says.

We can also reveal that as far as the Asian continent costume is concerned, it will definitely not be a Geisha attire. Rather she will go on stage as a Philippine Muslim princess, carried on top of bamboo poles by half-naked men. Singkil as it is called in the Philippines.

U.S. NAVY DRONE CRASHES IN THE PHILIPPINES, SUSPECTED OF SPYING

droneLUCENA CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – An unmanned drone, believed to belong to the United States Navy, was found in the town of Patnanungan, Quezon Province in the Philippines on Sunday afternoon.  It is suspected to have either malfunctioned or crashed in this tiny island facing the Pacific Ocean.

Both the Philippine military and the U.S. Embassy confirmed the discovery.  The aerial target drone BQM-74E with serial number BQ55079 is now in the custody of Patnanungan police.

Lt. Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr., Chief of Staff of the Philippine Armed Forces accused the U.S. of spying but did not elaborate on what it was spying about.

However, Admiral Harry B. Harris, Jr., Commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, denied that the captured aircraft was a spy plane.  He said when it crashed, the drone was on its way to take aerial photographs of the December 30, 2014 wedding of Philippine film stars Dindong Dantes and Marian Rivera.

Harris admitted being a die-hard fan of the two Filipino celebrities. “I was extremely disappointed that I didn’t get an invitation to the ‘royal wedding’ so the best I could do was to send an unmanned aircraft to capture some of the photoghraphic moments of their union,” Harris said.

High definition movie cameras were found inside the captured drone.

DORAL, Florida (The Adobo Chronicles) – The 63rd Miss Universe Pageant will be held on January 25, 2015, at the US Century Bank Arena at Florida International University in Doral, Florida.

Who will succeed reigning Miss Universe Gabriela Isler of Venezuela? That final decision will be in the hands of a distinguished international panel of judges.

Unconfirmed reports say that Filipino world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao has been invited to be one of the judges. Pacquiao is not only a boxer; he is a basketball coach and player, a music lover (Karaoke), a one-star general in the Philippines Armed Forces, an elected Congressman, and a connoiseur of beauty.

The only thing that is preventing Pacquiao from accepting the invitation is his mom’s demand to Miss Universe Pageant owner Donald Trump that she replace her son as judge. “I am more qualified than Manny to judge beauty and talent, and I have an equally recognized status as an international celebrity,” the mom, popularly known as Mommy Dionisia, told reporters in Manila.

Trump will make a decision in the coming days.

As the pageant’s season is heating up, there have been the early crowd favorites named including Miss USA Nia Sanchez, Miss India Noyonita Lodh, Miss Brazil Melissa Gurgel, and Miss Philippines Mary Jean Lastimosa.

As of the moment, Miss Philippines Mary Jean Lastimosa garners the most likes and shares on the official Facebook page of Miss Universe. The contestant has been loudly recognized on the social media for being ‘such an advocate for peace and humanity’ considering that she grew up on a war-torn province in her country.

Meanwhile, Natalie Morales and Thomas Roberts are appointed as the hosts of the grand event, together with Miss Universe 2013 3rd runner-up Ariella Arida from Philippines as an ‘On the Scene’ insider.

There will be ample Philippines representation at the pageant in Doral — a contestant, a judge, an ‘On the Scene’ commentator and  hundreds of the estimated 21,000 Florida-based Filipinos  who live in the Metropolitan Miami Area.
