Vista Land Bids To Construct Condotel Along Manila Sands

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Vista Land, the subdivision and home development company owned by the family of Senator Cynthia Villar, has submitted a bid to construct a condo hotel (condotel) along the new Manila Sands.

Manila Sands is that portion of Manila Bay that was retrofitted with dolomite from Cebu to create a new look — white sandy beach a la Boracay.

The day before the beach opened to the public, Senator Villar visited the site with her developers to finalize the design for the tourist-oriented condotel.

”I totally see the revenue potential of this project and it is definitely in line with our company’s “Acquire, Acquire, Acquire” program to convert farmlands and prime real estate into profitable business ventures,” Villar told The Adobo Chronicles.

DENR Replaces Baguio’s Burnham Lake With Water From Pacific Ocean!

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – The controversial makeover of Manila Bay by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is nothing compared to what the agency did in Baguio City.

DENR has imported white sand/dolomite from Cebu and dumped it on part of the beach at Manila Bay.  The move has elicited not just a few criticism from environmentalists as well as politicians and netizens.

In Baguio, DENR has replaced the murky water at the city’s Burnham Lake with water imported from the Pacific Ocean, and the result was amazing. The lake now sparkles with blue water, providing a scenic backdrop for the for-hire paddle boats that Burnham Park is famous for.

So far, there have been no complaints from Baguio residents.

The lake’s new look awaits tourists as the city begins to open up outside tourism later this month.

Manila Bay Not The Only White Sanding Project In Metro Manila — DENR

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The controversial white sanding at Manila Bay is not the only such project in Metro Manila, according to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

The agency, criticized for bringing in white sand/rocks from Cebu to fill the shores of the bay, said it has just quietly completed a similar project at Vice President Leni Robredo’s official residence — the Boracay Mansion in Quezon City.

”We wanted to make sure that the OVP headquarters lives up to what Boracay island is world-famous for — white sand.

Looks fake but pristine…
