MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Iona Gibbs from Bataan was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas 2022 during the 52nd Mutya ng Pilipinas Grand Coronation Night held at the FilOil EcoOil Centre, San Juan City Sunday night.
But alas, she may be the first Filipina beauty queen with no international beauty pageant to go to, as confirmed by the Mutya organizers:

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – We all know too well that politicians promise the universe and even heaven if elected to the elective positions they are seeking.
Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo is no exception.
But her promise is like no other. If elected on May 9, she said she would push for the Philippines to become a Monarchy. After all, she says, Filipinos love beauty queens.
To demonstrate that she was serious with her promise, she took to the stage in her latest concert rally, wearing a replica of the Miss Universe crown to the delight of her fanatics.
Too bad, two previous Filipina Miss Universes, Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray, who endorsed her candidacy, were not present at the rally to give her moral support for her aspiration to become Queen of the Philippine Monarchy.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The lady who violated her hotel quarantine in the Philippines to party in Makati City has been appointed the country’s representative to the forthcoming 2022 Miss Omicron International.
Gwyneth Chua who has since tested positive for Covid-19 and who is suspected to have infected others in the party is the new 2022 Miss Omicron Philippines, the first title holder of this new beauty pageant.
The new international pageant will be held in the summer this year, at a place still be be decided by the organizers.
This is Chua’s second title, the first being ”Poblacion Girl,” in reference to the venue of the party she attended, in Barangay Poblacion, Makati.
