Mar Roxas’ Yellowtards Outnumbered By Grace Poe’s Whitetards During Isabela Campaign Rally

Whites outnumber the Yellows at Mar Roxas’ Isabela campaign rally

SANTIAGO, Isabela (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) –  Liberal Party standard bearer Roxas and his runningmate Leni Robredo prepared themselves to speak to 8,000 people at a scheduled campaign rally in Santiago, Isabela on Thursday night.

But alas, the presidential and vice presidential candidates were very disappointed that only about 2,000 people showed up.

The Yellowtards (supporters of Roxas-Robredo and President Aquino and his cohorts) were hugely outnumbered by the “Whitetards,” supporters of presidential candidate Senator Grace Poe.

As can be seen in this photo of the Santiago rally, there were more whites than yellow.

White chairs, that is.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – With only 23 days to go before the Philippine presidential elections, the word war has intensified between Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas. Among other things, Duterte has called Roxas “gay,” while Roxas says Duterte is “all talk.”

Well, the time for debate is over.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announced today that it will hold a boxing match between the two presidential candidates to settle once and for all who is most fit to become Commander-in-Chief.

The match will be held at the Philippine Arena on May 2, just a week before the elections.  May 2 also happens to be the one-year anniversary of the “Fight of the Century” between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Meayweather.  We all know who lost that fight.

Ironically, Pacquiao, who is running for senator, has agreed to be the referee for the Roxas-Duterte match.

Originally, the COMELEC wanted to schedule an underfight between the two female presidential candidates, Senators Grace Poe and Miriam Defensor-Santiago, but both declined.  They said they’d rather watch Roxas and Duterte go for the knockout.

CNN Philippines will broadcast the boxing match live starting at 7pm.

Philippines’ Customs Employees Want Colored CCTVs

imageMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Following a proposal by vice presidential candidate Francis Escudero to install closed-circuit television cameras (CCTVs) in transaction areas at the Philippines’ Bureau of Customs, members of the Bureau of Customs Employees Association (BOCEA) announced they will be staging a rally to protest the measure.

Earlier, BOCEA president Rommel Francisco went on national TV practically admitting that employees of the agency — regarded as the most corrupt in the Philippines — indeed accept bribes. He told GMA News:  “Subukan kaya nilang itaas ‘yung sahod namin, ibigay sa amin ang tamang benepisyo? Sa tingin ba nila gagawa pa kami ng ganoon?” (Why don’t they try raising our salaries, and giving us the appropriate benefits? Do they think we would still do that?)

But in an interview with The Adobo Chronicles, Francisco clarified that his association is protesting the installation of CCTVs not because it violates the employees’ human rights, but because the employees want colored CCTVs — not black and white — installed in their work stations.

“It’s already 2016,” he said, “it’s about time we keep up with modern technology by using colored, high-definition CCTVs, and not the archaic black and white video recorders and monitors. We look terrible in black and white.”
