SAP Bong Go To Rappler And Inquirer: You’re Fake!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Intending to clear his name over allegations that he intervened in the Navy Frigate deal, Special Assistant to  the President Bong Go said that Rappler and Inquirer have peddled fake news.

The Adobo Chronicles caught up with Go as he was leaving the Senate Chambers and we asked him for other examples of fake news being spread by the news media.

“Thanks for asking,” Go said, “rumors are being spread that I am very interested in running for Senator in 2019. That’s totally false. What’s true is that I intend to run for President in 2022.”

So there you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth.

Got that, Rappler and Inquirer?

Bong Go Unmuted!

27901581-55D6-4F15-964E-771469F58637MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Special Assistant Bong Go is one of the most recognizable faces next to President Duterte himself.  He’s seen everywhere the President goes, handing over a note or whispering something to his ear. But almost nobody has ever heard his voice.

Until now.

Today, Go appeared before a Senate hearing where he mesmerized the crowd with his eloquence and his forceful voice. The audience couldn’t hold back the applause after his opening statement.

It’s Bong Go unmuted.  It’s a great day!

The Marcos Museum in Batac, Ilocos Norte, before and after

BATAC, Ilocos Norte (The Adobo Chronicles, Vigan Bureau) – Many have protested the burial of Ferdinand E. Marcos in the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani, but it is not only the late president’s critics and opponents who have done so.  Even Marcos’ loyal followers in the Ilocos have joined in the protests.

Now, many Ilocanos, especially the tourism officials in the province of Ilocos Norte want Marcos’ body back in Batac, where it has been kept in a refrigerated crypt for more than two decades.

Since President Duterte allowed Marcos’ burial at Libingan ng mga Bayani in Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City in November last year, tourism arrivals dropped significantly, especially right after the family closed the mausoleum, said Marc Anthony Baldoz, curator of the Marcos museum in Batac.

Only 32,903 visitors were recorded by the Marcos center from January to May this year, compared with the 131,168 visitors it drew for the same period last year, according to the Ilocos Norte tourism office.

So, take heed Marcos’ critics, you have a friend in the Ilocanos!
