Leni Robredo Calls Duterte A Cory Aquino Copycat

D5F86441-1587-4C2F-ABB2-21710F6A063DMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In her fiercest attack yet on Rodrigo Duterte, Leni Robredo is calling the President a copycat of the late Cory Aquino.

Robredo was reacting to Duterte’s recent statement that if provoked, he will declare a revolutonary war to deal with government corruption.

”Ginawa na yan dati ni Pangulong Cory Aquino. Wala namang originality si Duterte,” Robredo said . (President Cory Aquino already did that. Dutere has no originality.)

Aquino declared a revolutionary government when she took over as President from the deposed Ferdinand E. Marcos.

’We have to follow the Constitution, unlike Cory,” she added.

Political analysts are confused about Robredo’s statement. They weren’t sure if the VP was criticizing Duterte or Aquino.

Nakakabahala…

Senator Drilon Wants To Reopen Shabu Probe Against Davao Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon on Thursday suggested  that the Senate should reopen its investigation on illegal drugs amid the fresh “very serious” allegations against former Davao vice mayor and presidential son Paolo Duterte.

Drilon made the suggestion after a video linking the former Davao vice mayor to drugs circulated in social media.

The Adobo Chronicles caught up with Drilon soon after waking up from a nap at the Senate Session Hall and asked him what was the intention for his suggestion.

His reply:

”I was asleep all throughout the first Senate hearing. I didn’t get to hear what Paolo Duterte had to say  about illegal drugs. As a hard-working Senator, I just wanted to make sure I have all the first-hand information to be able to make informed decisions.”

MMDA Blunders: This Time, Setting A 60KPH Speed Limit On EDSA

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – This is not the first time we’re reporting about a blunder by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), because the agency had many previous blunders — from building that “footbridge to Heaven” In Kamuning, Quezon City to bannning provincial buses along EDSA.

This time, MMDA has issued a new directive setting the speed limit on many roads and highways in the metropolis to 60 Kilometers per hour.

Among the many thoroughfares included in this new rule is, of course, the busiest of them all, EDSA.

The Adobo Chronicles wanted to seek comments about this issue from our experts — the commuters themselves.

They were unanimous in their verdict. Here’s what they said:

“Why is there a need to set a 60KPM  speed limit along EDSA when the actual flow of traffic is already at 6KM per hour?”

Yet another brilliant blunder by the technocrats at MMDA.
