Harvard Apologizes For Inviting Leni Robredo, Kim Kardashian

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts (The Adobo Chronicles, Cambridge Bureau) – It made a mistake not once, but twice — and now Harvard, one of the most prestigious Ivy League institutions in the U.S. and the world has issued a stark apology.

The apology came after the university was criticized for inviting ex-Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo and entertainer Kim Kardashian as lecturers.

Fox News has described the fiasco as “Harvard’s prestige disappearing into thin air.”

Harvard’s apology was addressed to its students, alumni and the world-wide academic community and asked for a second chance in rectifying its blunder.

“We promise this will never happen again,” a university statement said.

Maria Ressa’s Nobel Prize Withdrawn!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Just hours after the Philippine Court of Tax Appeals acquitted Rappler CEO Maria Ressa of tax evasion charges, the Nobel Prize Committee announced that it has withdrawn her Nobel Peace Prize.

Ressa bagged the Nobel Prize with the help of allegations that the law in the Philippines was being “weaponized” to curtail her free speech and Freedom of the Press.

With her acquittal, the Nobel Committee felt Ressa no longer deserved the status of Laureate.
