PET Rules: Leni Robredo’s Petition To Validate 25%-Shaded Ballots Is Moot And Academic

F580E1A9-A0BB-4ABA-8536-556544F3837EMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Faced with the prospect that her victory in the 2016 Vice Presidential Elections will all but be reversed, Leni Robredo petitioned the Supreme Court, acting as the Presidential Electoral Tribution (PET) to reconsider the latter’s decision to invalidate ballots that were not at least 50% shaded.

In her petition, Robredo said that PET should consider those ballots that were at least 25% shaded, arguing that this was the threshold earlier established by the Commission on Elections.

The invalidated ballots, among other things, had caused Robredo’s lead over Bongbong Marcos to narrow down by 5,000 votes.

But in a ruling just issued by PET, the petition is deemed practically moot and academic, considering that all the contested ballots in favor of Robredo were shaded just 24.99%.

Senator Leila De Lima’s Naming To Fortunate Magazine’s Top World Leaders Turns Out To Be An April Fool’s Joke!

50D3CAE9-6268-4455-AE7C-EF17B2CEDDF4.jpegNEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, New York Bureau) – After all, that brouhaha regarding Philippine Leila De Lima being named among the Top 50 World Leaders by Fortune Magazine is just, well, a bruhaha (translation: witchity joke).

Many Filipinos have criticized the inclusion of the lady Senator in its 2018 list despite her being charged with a drug crime, violations of law during her various tenures in government service, and other destabilization efforts against the Administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Well, it turns out the May, 2018 issue of Fortune was actually printed on April 1, 2018 (see photo), leading people to believe that the whole thing was a hoad — an April Fool’s joke.

It is turly, unFORTUNE-ate.
