MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Some Senators have called for the resignation of NFA Administrator Jason Aquino while NFA Council Chair, Cabinet Secretary Jun Evasco wants the food agency abolished. Both were triggered by the recent short supply of affordable NFA rice.
But neither is going to happen. Instead, Malacañang, Congress and the NFA Administration have come up with a compromise: change the name of the agency.
Henceforth, NFA will be known by its name in the vernacular.
The former Pambansang Pangasiwaan ng Pagkain will henceforth be known as Pambansang Pangasiwaan ni Evasco.
The NFA logo will also be turned clockwise so that the red-colored symbol will be positioned on the right instead of the left. Following the proper vertical display of the Philippines’ tri-colors, the blue color must always be on the left during peace time and on the right during a time of war.
Quite symbolic: new name; no more war at NFA.
