OZAMIZ CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog, who was arrested in a police raid for suspected involvement in the illegal drug trade, has escaped, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Her escape continues to baffle authorities.

In a recently-released video of the police raid, Parojinog was seen swallowing a white object as she was being taken into custody.

A PNP spokesperson told The Adobo Chronicles  that Parojinog escaped by flying out of the police van as she was being taken to the police headquarters.  She was heard shouting “Darna!”IMG_1546

Darna is a fictional comics character in which a woman named Narda swallows a white stone while screaming “Darna” which transforms her into a flying superheroine.

Adobo Chronicles Apologizes For Error

IMG_3270SAN JOSE, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Jose Bureau) – The California-based online news outlet The Adobo Chronicles has issued an apology for a glaring error it has committed regarding some breaking news in the Philippines.

In its haste to beat other news outlets like The Philippine Daily Inquirer and Rappler, The Adobo Chronicles used the wrong photos to accompany the exciting news that House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez has announced he was pushing legislation to legalize both divorce and same-sex unions in the Philippines.

The Adobo Chronicles inadvertently used photos of Senator Antonio Trillanes and Representative Gary Alejano for the same-sex union story, and of Vice President Leni Robredo and Representative Bolet Banal for the divorce story.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) –  Anti-Duterte blogger Raissa Robles has a lot more reason to be worried these days.  Her book on the Marcos Martial Law faces some competition.  Serious competition.

Today, Malacañang announced the release of a new book on Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, a self-help book for dummies.

It is not intended for general audiences.  Rather, it is aimed at educating the 15% or so of Filipinos who are still opposing the president and his reform programs, or who are just waiting on the sidelines.

“This book is intended to give the readers a straightforward and factual understanding of Duterte the man, the mayor, the president and the true Filipino,” a Malacañang spokesperson said.

For its book launching, complimentary copies of the book will be personally delivered to staunch anti-Duterte fanatics like Raissa Robles, Maria Ressa, Pia Ranada, Jim Paredes, Cynthia Patag, Leah Navarro, as well as the offices of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senators Antonio Trillanes, Franklin Drilon, Risa Hontiveros, Kiko Pangilinan and Bambam Aquino.

The new book is expected to quickly jump to the New York Times’ No.1 Best Selling Book.
