NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Hillary Clinton may have won the debate against Donald Trump, but she also tried to win over President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. She had some words of advice for the Philippine leader.
Duterte has earned the reputation of being a no-holds-barred kind of mayor and president who is not concerned about mincing words — cuss words included.
The Philippine president has been criticized for uttering cuss words when he talked about foreign ambassadors, the pope and even U.S. President Obama.
During Monday night’s U.S. presidential debate, Clinton said, “Words matter when you run for president – and they really matter when you are president.”
The Adobo Chronicles sent a text message to President Duterte seeking his reaction to Clinton’s comment. His response: ” #imwithher .”
NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Millions who watched Monday night’s presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton noticed something unusual with the Republican candidate: he was constantly sniffling.
Did he have a cold? Was he suffering from allergies?
The Adobo Chronicles caught up with Trump just before he boarded his limousine after he exited Hofstra University, and we asked him what was going on.
Trump said he caught Hillary Clinton’s pneumonia bug at the start of the debate. “It problably happened when she shook my hand on stage,” he said.
(Mrs. Clinton was recently diagnosed with pneumonia which caused her to cut short her attendance at the 911 commemoration in New York earlier this month.)
We are still fact-checking Trump’s claim. Stay tuned.
NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Venezuelan-born beauty queen Alicia Machado became a U.S. citizen very recently, and when Miss Universe 1996 casts her first vote in November, it won’t be for the man who once insulted her for her weight and her accent. Trump had once called her “Miss Piggy” and “Miss Housekeeping.”
Today, during the first U.S. presidential debate, Miss Machado figured prominently when Hillary Clinton mentioned her (after Trump asked) when she talked about how Donald Trump denigrates women.
Tonight, Miss Machado must be reminiscing her coronation night, waving to the crowd while secretly giving the former owner of the Miss Universe Organization a middle finger.
