BEN CARSON’S PROPOSED NEW GOP PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE FORMAT

Among Carson’s demands: dim, mood lighting

WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles ) – Following Wednesday’s poorly-managed GOP presidential debate hosted by CNBC, Republican presidential candidate, now frontrunner, Ben Carson, demanded that the Republican National Committee (RNC) change the entire debate format starting with the November 10 debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Carson told RNC that unless all his demands are met, he will not be participating in next month’s debate.

Carson’s demands:

  1. Only the top four candidates will be invited, presumably Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush and himself.
  2. The prime-time debate must be broadcast by all major cable and television networks, except CNBC. Being the richest of the candidates, Donald Trump will pay for the air time.
  3. There will be no commercial interruptions, just a moment of silence every thirty minutes.
  4. Being the frontrunner, Carson’s podium should be placed at least five feet away from the remaining three debaters (see photo).
  5. Carson wants dim, mood lighting throughout the debate (see photo).
  6. There will be no moderators. Instead, Carson will be asking all the questions of the three other candidates before answering each question himself.
  7. The three candidates will be allowed to ask each other a follow-up question, but they cannot ask Carson any question.
  8. Towards the end of the two-hour debate, the live audience and television viewers will be asked to vote on who they think won the debate.  The results will be announced at the conclusion of the telecast.
  9. The candidate that finishes last in the voting will immediately withdraw his candidacy.
  10. If Carson ends up last in the voting, he will remain as a candidate until the next scheduled debate.

The campaigns of Trump, Bush and Rubio, have not formally commented on Carson’s proposal.

NOT SO FAST ABOUT FRUITS AND VEGETABLES, THEY CAUSE CANCER TOO!

imageLONDON, Great Britain (The Adobo Chronicles) – Consumers the world over abruptly abandoned bacon, hotdogs and processed meat in their diets and quickly turned to eating fruits and vegetables.  This, after the World Health Organization confirmed last week that processed meat causes cancer.

But wait, are fruits and vegetables really safe?

Not according to a new study by researchers at Glasgow University. They have linked increased use of nitrate fertilisers — used in the production of fruits and vegetables  — to an alarming rise in gullet cancer in Britain.

The disease – which affects three times more men than women – kills more than 3,000 people in the UK every year, a threefold increase over the past 20 years. It is more common than stomach cancer.

The increase has puzzled researchers. But Glasgow University researchers, led by Professor Kenneth McColl, have discovered a link between nitrates in fruit and vegetables and gullet cancer.

‘It appears that the mass production of vegetables in the Western world since the last world war may be the underlying factor that has led to such huge increases in this form of cancer,’ he added.

McColl said it was unlikely that organic food would be any healthier, because it also contained substantial levels of nitrate, some of which came from natural fertilisers such as manure.

His research has so far revealed that green and root vegetables contain the highest levels of nitrate.

Following the release of the Glasgow study, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended that people stop eating meats, fruits and vegetables altogether and stick to a liquid diet — like purified water and beer.

WHO also suggested that if people can’t survive on liquids, then they should go on a paleo diet, one that is based on how stone age humans ate and survived.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – Despite her failed marriage to basketball player James Yap, television host and actress Kris Aquino said she still wants to get married again one day. The couple’s marriage was officially annulled in 2012.

‘Everybody should get married,’ Kris said,  ‘but when I’m ready, okay?’
Speaking of being ready, Kris’ older brother, President NoyNoy Aquino,56,  told reporters yesterday that he is ready for marriage, “if the right person comes along.”
Like sister, like brother.
The betting has begun among gambling-loving Pinoys:  who’s gonna get married first, Kris or NoyNoy?
