SF GIANTS QUARANTINED FOR 21 DAYS; FRIDAY’S VICTORY PARADE CANCELLED

imageSan Francisco, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Friday’s victory parade for the World Series champs has been cancelled, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee announced this morning. The San Francisco Giants beat the Kansas City Royals in Game 7 Wednesday night to clinch its third World Series title in five years.

The announcement came after Lee received a call from from Kansas City Mayor Sly James that the entire San Francisco team has been quarantined for 21 days and barred from flying.

The state of Kansas has declared a new viral outbreak that’s highly contagious, more so than Ebola. The outbreak seemed to have started during Game 6 of the World Series. Tens of thousands of baseball fans, many of whom came in direct contact with the Giants, exhibited severe symptoms of euphoria, nervous breakdown, intoxication, inflammation of the vocal cords and hypertension — all of which were traced back to Game 6. By Game 7, the new contagion tripled, causing the state of Kansas to declare a health emergency. A new symptom — depression — developed overnight but strangely enough, only the Royals fans are exhibiting it.

Upon consultation with the Feds, notably the Centers for Disease Control, Kansas imposed a mandatory 21-day quarantine on all who attended Games 6 and 7 of the Word Series at the Kauffman stadium. Unfortunately, that includes the Giants team.

Mayor Lee asked for calm in San Francisco and promised that the victory parade will be rescheduled immediately after the Giants are released from quarantine.

Madison Bumgarner, who is widely credited for his role in clinching the World Series title for the Giants, tweeted from Kansas: ‘Bummer!’

Kansas City, Kansas (The Adobo Chronicles) – The Giants and Royals head back to Kansas City on Tuesday for Game 6 of the World Series which now stands at 3-2 in favor of the Giants.

Yesterday’s Giants victory at AT&T Park was bittersweet for the San Francisco team after that embarrassing botched rendition of the national anthem by rock artist now country singer Aaron Lewis.

The Royals don’t want to undergo the same embarrassment, so they decided to bring in pop star Justin Bieber to sing the Star-spangled banner.

A spokesperson for the Royals told reporters that even if Bieber messes up with his lyrics, it wouldn’t be such a big deal since he is Canadian.

A clever move by the Royals.

Los Angeles, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – It’s game number three between the San Francisco Giants and the Kansas City Royals as they battle to win the 2014 World Series title.  The Giants and Royals are tied 1-1.

In solidarity with their home team, radio stations in San Francisco vowed to ban the Grammy Award-winning song ‘Royals’ from the airwaves for the duration of the World Series.

‘Royals’ won for singer Lorde and song writer Joel Little the Grammy for Song of the Year at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles last January.

Today, Lorde and Little announced that they were filing a class-action law suit against the San Francisco radio stations for banning their song.

“Our song has nothing to do with the Kansas City baseball team, and neither are we into sports,” Lorde said, “so why are we being punished for something that we have nothing to do with?”

Little told reporters that they are suing for $10 Million which represents potential loss of revenue from the sales and exposure of their award-winning song. “How would Tony Bennett feel if radio stations in Kansas City started banning the song “I left My Heart in San Francisco?’ he asked.
