LAS VEGAS, Nevada (The Adobo Chronicles) – The new welterweight boxing champion of the world is …

We will have to wait till the conclusion of the May 2nd fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather to be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The world awaits the outcome of what is being billed ‘The Fight of the Century.’ If no one is knocked out, or if the referee  Kenny Bayless doesn’t stop the fight, the final decision rests with the judges, the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s Burt Clements, Dave Moretti and Glenn Feldman. All of these men have years of experience in some of the biggest fights boxing has ever seen.

Pacquiao remains the underdog, with experts and bettors setting the odds at 8-2 in favor of Mayweather.

But the only thing that’s certain this far is that the prize money — now estimated at $300 Million will be split 60-40, again in favor of Mayweather.

Our boxing experts at The Adobo Chronicles have just released their round-by-round prediction  of how both fighters will fare (and how the judges will vote) come Saturday night:

Round 1 :  2-1 (Pacquiao)

Round 2:  3-0 (Mayweather)

Round 3: 3-0 (Pacquiao)

Round 4: 2-1 (Mayweather)

Round 5: 3-0 (Mayweather)

Round 6: Mayweather is knocked down; 3-0 (Pacquiao)

Round 7: 2-1 (Pacquiao)

Round 8: Pacquiao is knocked down ; 3-0 (Mayweather)

Round 9: 2-1 (Mayweather)

Round 10: 3-0 (Pacquiao); both fighters seem to be having impaired vision because of face injuries

Round 11: 2-1 (Mayweather); both fighters are very groggy

Round 12 (15 seconds before the bell) Referee Bayless stops the fight

Judges’ Announcement: It’s a draw!

In the Green Room, the Mayweather and Pacquiao camps sign an agreement for a re-match in October at the Philippine Arena just north of Manila,  with the money to be split 50-50.

LANGKAWI ISLAND, Malaysia (The Adobo Chronicles) – From one Filipino to another: “It’s time to quit!”

Speaking to reporters in Malaysia where he is attending a summit meeting of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), Philippine President NoyNoy Aquino gave Filipino champion boxer Manny Pacquiao his unsolicited advice.

“You have earned and saved money. You should be able to enjoy it. Enjoy your family. Enjoy each other,” Aquino said.

He added: “(Pacquiao) is entitled, after all his sacrifices and the example that he’s made, to enjoy the fruits of all his hard work and labor.”

Pacquiao will face Floyd Mayweather at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 2 for the welterweight boxing title. The Filipino is considered by many  — including top Las Vegas bettors — as the underdog.

From his Penthouse suite at the MGM Grand Hotel, Pacquiao was informed and asked about the advice from the president of his country that it’s time for the boxer to quit.  Pacquiao replied:  “Salamat, Ginoong Pangulo. Sana ikaw rin!” (Thank you Mr. President. I hope you do too!)

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (The Adobo Chronicles) – The stage is all set for the ‘Fight of the Century’ between Filipino Manny Pacquiao and American Floyd Mayweather.  The much-anticipated boxing match happens on Saturday, May 2, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Today,  it was announced that American singer-actor Jamie Foxx will sing the U.S. National Anthem while Filipino American Gail Banawis will render the Philippine Nation Anthem.

Foxx is billed to star as Mike Tyson in his upcoming biopic and  co-starred alongside Will Smith the 2001 film,  Ali. He also performed “America, the Beautiful” before a Pacquiao fight in 2011 .

Banawis will perform with a group of singing pastors who are closely affiliated with the boxing icon. She has made a name for herself performing in front of Fil-Am communities in New York and New Jersey. It was Pacquiao himself who reached out to her and asked her if she could be part of the choir that would sing “Lupang Hinirang.”

Pacquiao’s Entrance Song

Previously, the Pacquiao camp wanted Manny to enter the ring to a song he himself recorded – ‘Lalaban Ako Para Sa Pilipino’ (I will fight for the Filipinos).

But after much cajoling and persistence, TV late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel will now do the honors of singing Manny’s song live at the MGM Grand.

Pacquiao gave his  approval during his appearance at last night’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ where the host demonstrated to the boxer that he knows the song well and will be very honored to be in Pacquiao’s entourage. (See video of Kimmel and Pacquiao’s duet below)

Teenage singing idol Justin Bieber is also expected to  be at ringside.  He is known to be an avid fan and supporter of Mayweather. Sources close to Mayweather said that Bieber wanted to sing “America the Beautiful,” during intermission, but the boxing promoters refused on the grounds that Bieber is not American. (He is Canadian).
