CNN FIRES ANCHOR DON LEMON OVER SELFIE

imageATLANTA, Georgia (The Adobo Chronicles) – A half-naked Don Lemon, news anchor at CNN, took a selfie and posted it on social media. He was immediately fired by CNN.

Many saw it coming. Lemon has earned a controversial reputation as news anchor, asking African American kids to pull up their pants, suggesting the missing Malaysia Airlines plane was kidnapped by a higher power, and asking a Muslim guest on his show if he supported ISIS.  Oh, and did we mention he smelled marijuana while covering the Ferguson protests?

Today, Lemon posted a photo of his half-naked body on his Twitter account showing his scar from the measles vaccination he got as a child. It was meant to promote his prime-time show in which he invited medical experts to discuss the growing controversy over child vaccinations.

CNN, in a prepared statement, said Lemon was fired not because of his half-naked selfie, but for showing his scar from his measles vaccination.

There was a big problem with Lemon’s tweet. Measles shots do not leave scars. Lemon’s scar was from his smallpox vaccination.

CNN TO AIR FINAL BROADCAST AT 5 P.M. ON JUNE 1, 2015 (VIDEO)

imageATLANTA, Georgia (The Adobo Chronicles) – On June 1, 1980, at the launch of Ted Turner’s Cable News Network, the founder made a grandiose and specific promise about his newly created round-the-clock operation. “Barring satellite problems, we won’t be signing off until the world ends,” Turner declared. And in anticipation, he prepared a final video segment for the apocalypse.

“We’ll be on, and we will cover the end of the world, live, and that will be our last event. We’ll play the National Anthem only one time, on the first of June, and when the end of the world comes, we’ll play ‘Nearer My God To Thee’ before we sign off.”

Fast forward 34 years. The world continues to outlive CNN.

Suspecting that the world will probably never end, CNN has announced that at the strike of 5 p.m. Eastern time on June 1, 2015, the cable news network will air its final video — the same video that Turner taped 34 years ago. Then CNN will sign off for good.

Media critics are saying that CNN’s decision to go off the air permanently is its gracious way to deal with its increasing unpopularity and declining ratings.  CNN has, of late, been ridiculed for its mediocre news coverage, clueless anchors, sensationalized reporting, pandering pundits and expert analysts and satire-like stories.

While the world will not end on June 1, 2015, CNN will.

Here’s the final video that will air when CNN signs off permanently:

CNN REPORTS YET ANOTHER MISSING PLANE

lemonAtlanta, Georgia (The Adobo Chronicles) – While search and rescue operations widened over the Java Sea in connection with missing AirAsia Flight QZ8501, CNN is reporting yet another missing plane, this time over the Atlantic Ocean.

Reports are still sketchy, but The Adobo Chronicles has learned that the aircraft in question is the model plane that CNN Anchor Don Lemon used as visual aid during the cable network’s coverage of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 in March of this year (see photo).

Neither Lemon nor producers at the CNN Newsroom know the whereabouts of the toy plane, but they have scheduled some aviation experts to discuss the news at tonight’s prime time broadcast.

The toy plane could come very handy as CNN launched a 90-day, 24-coverage of the AirAsia jetliner that has gone missing and is believed to be at the bottom of the Java Sea.

CNN may have to resort to another visual during its ongoing coverage — perhaps some pencil sketches by local Atlanta artists?
