Direk Vince Tañada Takes His Sarsuwela To Ilocos Norte!

BATAC, Ilocos Norte (The Adobo Chronicles, Batac Bureau) – What courage it is for film director Vince Tañada to take his controversial works to unchartered territory — not just any unchartered territory, but Ilocos Norte, bailiwick of the Marcos family!

In a hastily-called press conference, the anti-Marcos lawyer and film maker announced the Ilocano version of his sarsuwela, “Bonifacio,” will open April 1 for an unspecified run at the Imelda Marcos Cultural Center in Batac, Ilocos Norte.

“Isbo ni Pacio” is the director’s direct response to the films by his archrival Darryl Yap’s highly-successful films, “Maid in Malacañang” and “Martyr or Murderer” as well as Imee Marcos’ “Kape Chronicles” online video series.

Tickets to the sarsuwela may now be purchased online from Shopee as well as all outlets that sell Batac empanada and Vigan longganisa.
